The whole time I'm thinking something completely opposite. I'm looking at that and think that's a good idea. Nobody's back gets hurt hauling some 200lb guy away. Dude doesn't get dragged or dropped on the concrete face first. Kind of surprised they don't have protest carts designed for that sort of thing with sides where people can't roll off.

I can't condone the tone of the tweet, but based on all the other garbage ICE is doing and bragging about, I think this is pretty mild.

I really hope they identify some of these officers and the lawsuits are crippling. I do think they have a tough job. I don't agree with the immigration policy but I do respect the law. I'd be willing to wager that 99% of the arrests that ICE makes either at protests or detaining migrants are without incident and most of the remaining 1% are probably fine but these guys that are doing this kind of nonsense need to get drummed out of the force and right now there just doesn't seem like a mechanism to do it.

I don’t believe the president should be able to completely invent and lie about a crisis, whether his invented justification is “protecting federal assets” or anything else. There is no federal asset in Portland that needs to be “protected” from anything right now.

Right, and I mentioned the same thing. Portland is not war ravaged, protesters have gone after the ice building, but it's nothing that local police can't handle.

I also don't think that lying negates legal authority.
 
Illinois has 13,000 National Guard soldiers. Send them all to Chicago and just have the National Guard piled up on top of each other.
