One of the first things the Nazis did when they gained complete control of the German government was to fire any teacher or college professor who would not go along with their curriculum changes or teach only what the Nazis wanted taught. And when the Nazis invaded other countries during the war, starting with Poland, the SS and Gestapo would as a routine practice round up all the schoolteachers and professors in each town and city they conquered and either imprison or simply execute them right on the streets, as they believed that any resistance movement would likely start with them. I'm not saying that Trumpers would go that far (although no doubt some of them, like Chris Rufo, might) but certainly firing them regardless of tenure would be on the table.

It's noble that you think there is a bridge too far. I don't. It's not that I think your run of the mill Trump voter would pull the trigger on executions. I just think those folks won't lift a finger to stop the radicals from doing so. They've not shown any willingness yet to stop anything or speak up.
