On the one hand, every dictator always is surrounded by such characters. Trump, in this second term specifically wanted those types. On the other hand, Trump doesn't like unity among the folks who surround him. So we may luck out because this bunch may not be able to unite for a coup or whatever.

Bannon has a core philosophy and he lives by it, no matter how repugnant I find it. Elon is just a wealthy asshole (and a hypocrite) who wants to show how much he can get away with because he's wealthy.

Somehow, i can deal with the former slightly better than the latter.
