President-elect Donald Trump on Wednesday said he will nominate former U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission member Paul Atkins to lead the agency next year, highlighting the former commissioner's work in favor of the digital asset industry in a social media post announcing the nomination.

Trump made the announcement on Truth Social, ending weeks of speculation over whom the incoming Republican president would tap to replace outgoing SEC Chair Gary Gensler.

Atkins was a Republican commissioner at the SEC from 2002 to 2008 and currently serves as chief executive at the consulting firm Patomak Global Partners. The Vanderbilt Law School-trained lawyer also works alongside crypto lobbying organization the Digital Chamber, a fact that Trump highlighted in his announcement.
Yellow font? Are you callisa?

SBA needs someone competent running it. Hopefully Loeffler is that.

This one is a Vance/Thiel appointment (with more Fox connections but a lot of experience)

The auctioneer who would run the IRS:

In fairness, he was the guy who shut down Laura Loomer in a congressional hearing she tried to disrupt.

I have no idea what his qualifications would be to lead the IRS, but also I don't know much about the qualifications expected in that position.

This guy is technically an astronaut but only because he is a billionaire who bought a private spacewalk from Elon Musk. He has a pretty interesting biography though — a guy who dropped out of HS to start his own business at 16 and now owns a giant credit card processing company.

Trump was a busy poster yesterday (but I was also busy, so catching up now).

The two sacred rules, buy american and hire american, from a guy who outsources all of his trinkets from abroad, whose properties are staffed by immigrants, and who reaches out to hire Nazis from other countries.

That NDA is not enforceable anyway. California has banned NDAs for sexual assault claims since 2006 (and banned again in 2017). She can talk to her heart's content if she wants -- even if Rick Scott thinks it would be a bad idea.

Surely he cannot get confirmed behaving like this?

Of course he can. The GOP can afford to give up 4 votes. Murkowski might vote against him, and maybe Tillis, although he's likely facing what could be a tough GOP primary in a couple of years if he pisses off Trump too much. Collins will likely furl her brow, say she's concerned, and vote for him anyway. Hegseth actually fits what the party has become perfectly.

Hegseth is already DOA.
