Yellow font? Are you callisa?President-elect Donald Trump on Wednesday said he will nominate former U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission member Paul Atkins to lead the agency next year, highlighting the former commissioner's work in favor of the digital asset industry in a social media post announcing the nomination.
Trump made the announcement on Truth Social, ending weeks of speculation over whom the incoming Republican president would tap to replace outgoing SEC Chair Gary Gensler.
Atkins was a Republican commissioner at the SEC from 2002 to 2008 and currently serves as chief executive at the consulting firm Patomak Global Partners. The Vanderbilt Law School-trained lawyer also works alongside crypto lobbying organization the Digital Chamber, a fact that Trump highlighted in his announcement.
