Let me get this straight.The leading Senate Republican walked into the White House Sunday with a bipartisan deal to end the TSA nightmare. Fund everything except ICE now, get TSA agents paid today, handle ICE separately.Senate Republicans and Democrats said yes. Trump said no.Why? Because Trump is holding TSA workers’ paychecks hostage to try and force Congress to pass the SAVE Act, a voter suppression bill that would knock millions of eligible Americans off the voter rolls. He wants to make it harder for Americans to vote.Like a petulant child flipping the board when he’s losing, Trump torched a bipartisan deal his own Senate leader handed him on a silver platter. His tantrum continues as he unleashes ICE agents into airports. Agents with zero screening training, zero TSA authority, and a good chance of making everything worse.Democrats have been ready to fund TSA from day one. What we refuse to do is write a blank check for an ICE agency that gunned down two American citizens in Minneapolis and still demands the ability to kick down doors without a judge’s approval while hiding behind masks.We will not pass the SAVE Act either. Call it what it is: the SAVE REPUBLICANS Act. Non-citizen voting is already illegal. It was illegal yesterday. It will be illegal tomorrow. This bill solves nothing except the Republican party’s losing electoral math.Fund TSA. Reform ICE. End this today. Trump is the one standing in the way.
 
A friend of mine flew out of ATL this morning and said that Delta has pulled some of their agents in to help TSA, since they were sick of rescheduling flights and losing millions of dollars.

Hey -- that probably depends on your time of travel. Saw a video of ATL at 5am today and they claimed it was a 6 hr wait. While that may be hyperbolic, the video did not lie in that the TSA line snaked all the way outside the terminal, so def not normal biz then

Yes, I know. But I hated it. I'm tall and I need an aisle seat. I also didn't have time to show up two hours early to compete with grams and gramps. And if you were connecting, you were fucked. No way to get anything but a middle seat. I used to get up and down and "trip" squeezing into the middle and eventually someone would volunteer to switch with me. Well, eventually the two times I flew.

They solved that problem by giving priority to people who checked in online earliest. And if you were really a go-getter, you could pay a few bucks extra for A-list and be one of the first 15 to board the plane. I never sat in a middle seat on Southwest.

But now, they are shit. Another disaster brought to you by the fine folks at Elliot Investments.

I see. My experience probably predated online checkout.
 
I spent a few hours trying to get out of San Juan on Saturday. About half an hour in the USDA line (where they make sure you’re not bringing Caribbean pork products into the mainland) then about an hour and a half in the TSA PreCheck line. Most of those Puerto Ricans aren’t showing up if they’re not getting paid.
 
I flew to Durham from Ushuaia Saturday. It took five hours to connect in Buenos Aires- their version of TSA is on strike. After a 10 hour flight to Houston I had to stand in a line that reached to the parking lot for two hours. I was planning to drive from Santiago to Punto Arenas in the spring- I think I'll just hang out in the Brushies.
