I don't know if the BBB will have enough immediate effect to impact results in 2026. I think unemployment and inflation will have a bigger impact. If those are under control, I don't think BBB will move the needle. But we shall see. I am highly skeptical of forecasting a democrat victory in a federal statewide election in NC.
BBB will cause inflation to spike. It will also force rural hospitals to wind down operations. It doesn't matter if they push off implementation. Hospitals have a long time horizon.

And if people start losing their health care, even if it's only threatened or just starting, I think that will be bad.

The question is how fast.

I just really enjoy learning from folks like you and others. I feel like (or I like to think) that I know a little about a lot, but not a lot about anything in particular. So it’s really fun and really educational for me to be here amongst y’all
No, you genuinely arr the nicest person on the board and what we should all try to emulate more often

I feel like that that’s giving me far too much credit but I can’t tell you enough how much I appreciate it. I talk a little bit too much smack to people like ramrouser to truly be a nice guy on a message board but I never did claim that God gave me the gift of restraint!

Sure. Meanwhile, when was the last time a GOP Senate candidate had to run in a hostile national environment? I think it was 08 and a Dem won.

NC didn't elect a Senator in 2012 or 2018.
2020 was pretty hostile to Republicans. And Cal shit the bed.

2002 should have been hostile. And Dole beat Bowles by 10 points.

1990 should have been hostile. And Jesse beat Gantt by 5 points.

I'm skeptical of democratic senator campaigns in NC for good historical reasons.

Figuring out who you're going to vote for isn't exactly rocket science. In fairness, that's probably true for most people in here. But keep on imagining that you're keeping us on the edge of our seats by announcing that you're "withholding judgement" until you know who's on the ballot. Oooo, HY is withholding judgement until he knows who's on the ballot, he's really going to do some deep thinking about it and we're all going to be so fascinated when he reveals the results of that arduous and painstaking process...
I’m one of the few here who votes split ticket in the current environment. And in NC races I’ve almost always been on the side of the statewide winner in every election recently. Just saying I’m not going to answer definitively if I’ll vote for Cooper or not until I know who he’s running against and all that.

Yep, except one party gets punished for having the clear parameters of a moral foundation and the other is rewarded for having near zero moral foundation. You have to be an obvious kid diddler (Moore) and/or a black Nazi to morally crash out of the Republican ecosystem.
Well, according to Elon, the head of their party is likely a kid diddler.
