Honestly, by this point it's not stunning at all. And while it's not stunning either given how often it's happened, the really frightening thing about it is just how many Americans simply and willfully refuse to see this side of Trump and to see him for what he really is, and continue to live in a fantasy world in which they blindly follow and adore a Trump who doesn't exist in the real world. If nothing else, Trumpism has vividly revealed just how easy it is to fool vast numbers of Americans, and of just how gullible, ignorant, and deluded so many Americans are.

Yes, and that's not because of Trump. That's because so many Trump voters (folks like @Ramrouser) viscerally hate so many of their fellow Americans and would cheer such atrocity on.

Make no mistake, when they say "we" are their enemy, they mean it in every sense of thr word.
