I'm guessing you are referring to the Biden economy ?

There has been no improvement in the economy since Trump took office. Inflation has not been reduced since Trump took office. GDP is projected to finish the year at 1.9% vs. 2.8% when Biden left office. When Biden left office monthly wages were rising 4%. Since Trump took office monthly wages are rising 3.9%. Unemployment rate was 4.1% when Biden left office. It is now 4.3%
? Would this still be considered the Biden economy. Meaning how long does it take for it to be the next presidents economy. I have always been intrigued by this when a President talks about his economy and he has not been in office a year.

Well, seeing as how Trump completely changed the policies, it's his economy.

You really want to blame Biden for the shit that happened after Trump started laying off federal workers en masse, freezing hundreds of billions of dollars in appropriated funds, pissed off and tariffed our largest trading partner, got into a trade war with China, implemented huge tariffs on industrial inputs, making it impossible for American exporters to compete on price, appointed a crony to the Fed and tried to fire another Fed person, and is rounding up agricultural laborers en masse?

You want to blame Biden? Look, as Ramrouser said early on, your guy's got plenty of energy. He's doing more in his first year since FDR. Unfortunately, what he is doing has been economically calamitous. Just like economists and policy analysts said.

You're just going to have to live with the fact that we were right. You were wrong. Deal with it. Or fly off to a never never land of make believe where cows fly and elephants smoke cigars. The truth doesn't depend on your acceptance of it.

Had Trump merely continued Biden's policies, then it would be fair to ask at this point whether Trump was at fault for the economic decline. But seeing as how Trump broke all the old rules and broke the government, it's all on him.

Thanks for the information.

But….is it not fair to ask to return the program to pre-pandemic levels? It would seem that emergency measures should be removed at some point.
Thats an entirely different discussion than the point I replied to. You said that the ACA hasn't accomplished anything with regard to cost. Thats untrue. A big part of that is keeping more people in the pool. If lots of people drop from the pool because of a sudden change in subsidies, lots of things will unravel quickly and costs will spiral.

the republican party controls the entire federal government. both houses of congress, the executive branch, the judiciary.

this shutdown is 100000% on the republican party.
The Republican Congress just used the nuclear option to override the 60 vote filibuster requirement to ratify the confirmation of over 100 Trump appointees.

They are not reopening the government via the same mechanism for one simple reason.

Trump wanted the appointees. Trump does not want the government open. End of story. The Republican congress is a sock puppet.

“… “As a result, the Supreme Court Building will be closed to the public until further notice. The Building will remain open for future business. The Supreme Court will continue to conduct essential work such as hearing oral arguments, issuing orders and opinions, processing case filings, and providing police and building support needed for those operations,” the statement said.

… Under the Constitution, Supreme Court justices have life tenure, which means that they generally cannot be fired and their pay cannot be reduced, including during a shutdown….”
