Read a rumor that if RFK Jr is not confirmed he will join DOGE and run cuts personnel and funding at NIH, CDC and FDA from there. But the full court press remains to get him confirmed.

I don’t mind setting up a loan structure that requires Ukraine to pay for at least some of the cost of the support we provide. I think Ukraine would be smart to be open to that and sounds like they are. Collateralizing the loan with mineral rights is fine I guess, but it would need to be capped at the cost and not be in perpetuity. We benefit from Ukraine resisting Russia too and they are paying in blood, so that’s part of the equation.

Yeah, if true, that's pretty much a total victory for Putin. Which is not surprising after November 5, I guess. Also, why in the hell would the UK or any other country agree to maintain a DMZ between Ukraine and Russia? I see no benefit to that for them and a whole lot of risk (and expense).
I don't see any reason why Ukraine would agree to this. Basically Russia gets to keep everything they have and can then rebuild in order to try again, but this time with an established foothold in Ukraine to operate from. Also, Russia doesn't have to pay anything to Ukraine for the destruction they caused, while getting sanctions lifted so they have plenty of money and access to tech to rebuild. The EU gets the bill for rebuilding and supplying troops for a DMZ. Sounds pretty much in line with what one would expect from Trump - assist Russia and screw over our allies.
