No chance. Paine is a very smart, informed poster, even if I don’t always agree with him. Randman was a kooky nutcase.I thought someone said that Paine is randman?
I think the only reason they would consider agreeing to this is to stop having their people killed and because they are afraid that they are going to lose even more if the war goes on. Not saying now is that time for them sometimes you have to cut your losses.I don't see any reason why Ukraine would agree to this. Basically Russia gets to keep everything they have and can then rebuild in order to try again, but this time with an established foothold in Ukraine to operate from. Also, Russia doesn't have to pay anything to Ukraine for the destruction they caused, while getting sanctions lifted so they have plenty of money and access to tech to rebuild. The EU gets the bill for rebuilding and supplying troops for a DMZ. Sounds pretty much in line with what one would expect from Trump - assist Russia and screw over our allies.
True, also, you only cut your losses for a brief period. Putin will go for Kiev, whether Ukraine stops or continues fighting, today. Ukraine has no good answers, unless the EU fully commits to defeating Putin through arms transfers and economic sanctions. Trouble is, the right has greatly advanced their influence in the EU, and EU citizens would have to accept economic turmoil and likely some damn cold nights.I think the only reason they would consider agreeing to this is to stop having their people killed and because they are afraid that they are going to lose even more if the war goes on. Ukraine should make a beeline from Kursk to Moscow ... they'd "stand a damn good chance of catching 'em with their pants down."Vlad says things are difficult

Putin called the situation in the Kursk region very difficult
A very difficult situation has developed in Kursk region. This was stated by Russian President Vladimir Putin during a meeting with the regional deputy head Alexander Khinshtein on February 5.The news is supplemented byen.iz.ru
I mean, that general was seemingly moments from taking Moscow.Ukraine should make a beeline from Kursk to Moscow ... they'd "stand a damn good chance of catching 'em with their pants down."
Protection racket is just how he thinks about American power.
Kinda missed on that pledge didn’t he?I thought the war was going to be over in 24 hours after Trump took office? All he had to do was tell Putin to stop.
Actually, it was within 24 hours of being elected. I suppose he was afraid Biden might beat him to it, so he had to be sure he could make a claim that it was all his doing.I thought the war was going to be over in 24 hours after Trump took office? All he had to do was tell Putin to stop.
Correct. It is simple extortion. In fairness that is not a protection racket.
