That would have been one of my first questions. You have to ask. Seems like something he would remember.
A LOT of coolers in Boshamer in those days……including at least one large cooler carried in by some snot-nosed 17 year-olds from Chapel Hill High (possibly others from Jordan High and/or Durham Academy).

gonna be an interesting test for the Heels today against Ethan Norby - preseason first-team All-American and D1Baseball's 3rd-ranked pitcher in the country. he didn't have a great first outing; got chased off after 3.2 innings by Xavier. But even in a bad outing, he struck out 3 and only walked 1 (his K:BB last year was something ridiculous like 115:20), he's a big-time strike thrower... and so far this year UNC has been relying a ton on free passes to get on base and advance runners. not going to get that vs Norby, so just taking good ABs isn't going to be enough - we need hits.

that said, Forbes and staff have been really good at prepping for elite arms the past couple of years. Burns in the regular season a couple years ago, Arnold and Witherspoon last year... we'll see what happens.

DeCaro goes 7 strong innings. I think he allowed 3 hits with one being a crazy spiked roller that started 4 feet foul and trickled back fair dying halfway down the 3rd base line. He looked fantastic and was totally in control. I think he threw about 80 pitches.

Im typing this assuming they do not send him back out for the 8th.

4 hits and 88 pitches. Getting him thru 7 with only 88 pitches is great, one of his most economical starts ever
