UNC basketball 2026 transfer portal

Some in non-rev are getting paid somewhat. I know we are paying relatively meager amounts to probably a half dozen on the baseball roster. Mostly, it has allowed them to cover the full cost of attendance rather than splitting a ridiculous 11.7 scholarships. There are definitely SEC schools paying consistent 6 figures to baseball players but it is a rarity still in the overall sport.
I thought we were , and today are, expending the scholarships in accordance with new NCAA rules???

It is wild how much college sports have changed since that 2022 run. Truthfully it’s always been a little slimy, but what it’s morphed into the last few years is entering farcical territory.

The fact that UNC just hasn’t quite been able to figure out how to adjust with the times for whatever reason compounds the frustration. If we had transitioned seamlessly like other schools or were already on the right side of conference realignment then I think a lot of us would be more willing to overlook the gaudiness of it all.
This is all true but the actual games look the same.

As for the economics, the money will continue to inflate until it is unprofitable for the institutions - then we will see a gradual leveling off of the curve. This is a new era and everyone needs to be patient as things play out. I think there should be a salary cap tied to actual NCAA revenue projections. And there needs to be some limits on transfers. But complaining about a kid making 4 million when his school is taking in far more for his services is a bit silly.
Definitely need to make it just like the pros with caps and contracts to limit transfers.

Avdalas has talent, just need his motor to run a bit higher for the Heels than he did with the hokies

For real for real??
The vibes with Henri are very good. The biggest variable at this point is whether he tests the waters, which could place us in a bind. But I think he is coming back due to the very significant money centers can command in college this year and the lack of a guarantee if he goes pro.

Juke is promising because he didn’t commit to Michigan yet. The longer that goes, the better I like our odds. Tennessee is the other player there as of right now.
