UNC Basketball Possible coaches

You may be more familiar with Byington than me. He's been a very good hire for Vandy, that's for sure. My only concern with him is that he's never shown the ability to sustain high-level success that others have.
One other thing about Byington:

He's got a 6 foot, 170 pound point guard on his current team that very likely won't be drafted high enough for guaranteed money in this upcoming draft, and he's got two more years of eligibility left. If Byington brought Tyler Tanner with him, we'd immediately be in the hunt again by next season.

This is a perfect example of that weasel. You aren't on anyone's wish list for the UNC job, but regardless I'll just publicly state that I'm happy staying at Bama and oh by the way let's add some zeros to my contract.

What makes anyone think TJO is out? Just because he said so publicly while his team is prepping for a tourney game?

Lots of coaches ended up taking jobs that they professed "no interest" in.

The thing to remember with some of these Midwestern jobs -- it's cold as shit and it was a tough winter. I very much doubt Dusty May isn't thinking, "you know, Chapel Hill gets a lot less snow."

Inside Carolina says he is no longer on the list.

Been saying this will not be a mad rush to take this job. Lloyd is very unlikely but more possible than Dusty May, if only bc Lloyd apparently not enthralled with the new AD there (much like helped Roy decide he could leave kansas).

I would say Billy D likely in the lead if he is willing to resign from Bulls before season over. And if not, we will be lucky to get Byington
Not much NBA season left and the Bulls are out of the playoffs, right?

For me, it's that IC has taken him off of their board. They would only do that if they were given info from UNC that he was out.

Tbh, I'm surprised he pulled out of consideration. I'd think the smart game would be to leverage for a more secure/better contract with ISU. I guess he could have already been given a better contract, in the past few days.

Yeah, I don't trust what IC says. I think they exaggerate their knowledge to sell subscriptions. I was never too excited about him anyway (and I said so) but I just don't know why we would assume he's out just because people on IC said. I get it, they are tied in, etc., but why would it serve anyone's interests to leak that?
