Sherrell just put him in the "off the table" section. It looks like TJO is out.It may very well be true that TJ has no interest in the UNC position, but I never trust Goodman to provide accurate information.
One other thing about Byington:You may be more familiar with Byington than me. He's been a very good hire for Vandy, that's for sure. My only concern with him is that he's never shown the ability to sustain high-level success that others have.

Nate Oats says 'no reason to leave' Alabama for open UNC job
Alabama coach Nate Oats has "absolutely no reason to leave" his current role, despite being mentioned for other opportunities, and said that he has had initial discussions about a new contract with the school.www.espn.com

Okay, that's very disappointing. And a bit scary.Sherrell just put him in the "off the table" section. It looks like TJO is out.
This is a perfect example of that weasel. You aren't on anyone's wish list for the UNC job, but regardless I'll just publicly state that I'm happy staying at Bama and oh by the way let's add some zeros to my contract.![]()

Really would rather have Lloyd, May, Otzelberger and maybe Byington before Donovan. We gonna end up with Billy Donovan right?
That would probably my current prediction. We gonna end up with Billy Donovan right?
Well, TJO is out. I personally have never thought it made any sense for Lloyd to leave. Guess we'll see on the others.Really would rather have Lloyd, May, Otzelberger and maybe Byington before Donovan.
I would be perfectly happy with Billy Donovan. I'd consider it "Mission Accomplished."Really would rather have Lloyd, May, Otzelberger and maybe Byington before Donovan.
Inside Carolina says he is no longer on the list. What makes anyone think TJO is out? Just because he said so publicly while his team is prepping for a tourney game?
Lots of coaches ended up taking jobs that they professed "no interest" in.
The thing to remember with some of these Midwestern jobs -- it's cold as shit and it was a tough winter. I very much doubt Dusty May isn't thinking, "you know, Chapel Hill gets a lot less snow."
Not much NBA season left and the Bulls are out of the playoffs, right?Been saying this will not be a mad rush to take this job. Lloyd is very unlikely but more possible than Dusty May, if only bc Lloyd apparently not enthralled with the new AD there (much like helped Roy decide he could leave kansas).
I would say Billy D likely in the lead if he is willing to resign from Bulls before season over. And if not, we will be lucky to get Byington
For me, it's that IC has taken him off of their board. They would only do that if they were given info from UNC that he was out. What makes anyone think TJO is out? Just because he said so publicly while his team is prepping for a tourney game?

Yeah, I don't trust what IC says. I think they exaggerate their knowledge to sell subscriptions. I was never too excited about him anyway (and I said so) but I just don't know why we would assume he's out just because people on IC said. I get it, they are tied in, etc., but why would it serve anyone's interests to leak that?Inside Carolina says he is no longer on the list.
