UNC Basketball Possible coaches

As we move away from the heavyweights and toward either a Belichick hire or a Tier 3 one, the men in the latter category will likely review fan base history along with all the other factors.

That would seem to me to mean that it is either Donovan as an interim Coach or a very cocky younger man who is either a Diamond in the Rough or just cocky. Whichever it is knows they are far from first choice for anyone associated with Carolina.

I’m at a loss in imagining who or what type of Coach could be hired without an already faction prepared not to like him and that will he poised to never be satisfied. Even with immediate success the impatience potential is high.

Can enough if our fan base stand up for a new Coach - Tier 3 - to hold at bay the haters (at least for the 5 or so years it might take to establish an acceptable pattern of coaching success?).
If you can't get an established winner, hire a cheap coach spend more on players.

The bar for success is fairly high for a coach coming in no matter the Tier. You would be replacing a coach who won over 20 wins each season with a 70% winning record and reached the FF and played for a national championship in his 1st 5 years.

I would think the agent of any prospective coach would advise his client to negotiate not only the salary but the details of a buyout should he be fired.

The program bar for success is much higher than Hubert set it.

Yes indeed which I think I spelled out in my post.

In your 1st five years:

Win more than 70% of your games
Have a winning record against dook**
Go to more than one FF

Ideally:
Win 30 games a year and one or two national championships

I know you are at least partly trolling because no one is demanding we win 30 games every year or win 2 titles in five years (as you said in another post). The goal is to build a program that is at or near the top of the ACC and in national contention more often than not.

I think a 50% record in Q1 games is a good baseline.

He's entirely trolling. He's gonna continue to piss in everyone's cornflakes until we have a new coach.

I am not trolling, but perhaps I am misreading the sentiment among the discontented and you can inform me what is the sentiment.

Am I right or wrong thinking a 70% winning record is below the fan base expectation ?
Am I wrong thinking only one FF appearance and playing for the national championship is below the fan base expectation
Am I wrong thinking that having a losing record against dook** is below the fan base expectation.

So it would help me if you could specifically lay out your expectations of the next coach in his 1st five years as our coach when it comes to winning% ,FF appearances, and record against dook**
