That’s a totally fair question. In a perfect world, I would prefer that he doesn’t get another year, because I would prefer that we go higher an actual collegiate coaching staff that has an actual plan and a blueprint for how they plan to turn the program around in 1-2 years, instead of the several-year rebuild that Belichick and Lombardi claim they are pursuing. But I also completely understand that it’s not feasible to expect the PTBs at UNC who hired him to 1. want to cut bait after only a season, and 2. come up with the $20M+ that it would require to buy out him and his staff. And I also know that this hiring cycle is going to be total chaos and I’m not sure UNC would fare well in it. Plus, even if I don’t like him as a coach nor agree with his philosophy, I also objectively understand why a coach probably deserves a second chance to rectify their errors.Oh, I totally agree with you, in the grand scheme of things, this statement is WAY down on the list. I do think you are over-evaluating the talent on this roster, there's very little. I'd be willing to wager that Wake has more, especially in the key positions.
If you feel like the coaching, team, etc., hasn't improved, why do you think BB has earned another year?
