yeah, it just adds more smoke to the fire that their origin was likely a sugardaddies/seekingarrangement type of app.

which is cringe AF and exactly why Jordon doesn't want it talked about.

she's trying to portray herself as some sort of GIRLBOSS! when she was very likely out there trolling for old, rich dick on an app, lmao.

"I bought her from the sultan of Brunei. There--are you happy?"

Belichick better win a hell of a lot of football games pretty damn quickly or else all of the off-field stuff with him and the corresponding media pile-on is going to get really old really quickly. If we start, say, 2-3 or something like that- which is easily plausible with TCU, UCF, and Clemson in our first 5 games- it's going to get pretty tense around the program IMO.

Who knows, but I can understand why maybe she doesn't want their meeting-story blasted across national media. If it's even slightly embarrassing to her, why blab about it.

The two have been reporting that "they met on an airplane." I don't know why they wouldn't just continue that story rather than have her announce "we're not going to discuss it" unless some reporter or investigator has determined that they were not on the same flight prior to their relationship beginning.

I think he will get at least one year and probably two even if he goes two and nine.

Oh for sure, for sure. I totally agree. I just mean that I think a lot of the shine and luster will wear off extremely quickly if we aren't winning at a high clip AND if the off-field stuff continues to be a focal point (fairly or unfairly) for media and/or opposing fanbases. I don't think there will be quite as much of a honeymoon/grace period anymore in college sports. And probably for good reason.

That interview was hard to watch. I find the whole situation with Belichick’s GF increasingly bizarre. The age difference thing is a bit creepy but hey, 2 consenting adults, not my business, etc., but her being such a visible part of the program now is a different story. Getting chippy with the media like that just feels like a total unforced error and gives Belichick unnecessary negative PR.

Ultimately it comes down to the results on the field. If UNC wins and takes a positive step forward next season then this is the type of story that will ultimately be just a footnote. If the program struggles and this experiment totally flops then there is a ton of ammo for the haters to use to really pile on us lol.

I haven't followed this story basically at all, but my outsider question is this:

Since when is it a bad thing for a college FB program to have a pretty young woman associated with it? Are there recruits looking at Jordon and thinking, "better keep her away from the program"? I'd think they'd be more likely to fist-bump the coach.

Probably worth a quick google to get a more detailed backstory. Essentially, Belichick did an interview with CBS yesterday with his GF ahead of his book release and she got chippy when they started asking about their relationship and working dynamic. It’s also not the first time something like that has happened since he became HC.

Like I said, I personally think it’s a little weird, but it’s ultimately not something that’s going to matter. If Belichick is successful no one will care, and if he flops it’s just something that his haters and UNC’s rival fans will make fun of. Not the end of the world.

I meant the story writ large -- i.e. the whole saga of Billdon. Did I do that right? Jorchek? Anyway, I still think it's never bad for a college FB program to have hotties around and visible.

College football recruit mommas (and dads, for that matter) tend to be very, very religious people. A good subset of that people may have an issue with a transactional relationship like that. Of course, high school recruiting is not as important as it once was, and obviously, BB brings a lot to the table other than his Christian morals. But all things being equal, it would probably be a lot better if she were lower profile.

Given that there are over 8 billion people in this crazy world I'm sure that there is a (very) small number of young women who for whatever reasons find much older men genuinely attractive. But in most cases I strongly suspect that it is the wealth and/or fame of much older men that they're going after. If Belichick was a retired high school football coach and teacher living on a pension I don't think there's any way in hell his grumpy and rumpled old mug would be landing pretty 20-something women. In other words, their relationship is definitely weird and not a good look. If he doesn't start winning big fairly quickly then the whole Belichick era could easily become a PR disaster. As fans all we can do is hope for the best, both in terms of his admittedly peculiar marriage and for his success on the field.

I know, I know, it's TMZ but...... if this stuff is even halfway true, it's got to be concerning if you're UNC.
I don’t give a fuck about his girlfriend or their relationship.

He’s a football coach who has long had a reputation for winning AND being a bit of a jackass.

His successful players appear to respect him and his coaching abilities.

Make UNC football Bill Dooley respectable.

I generally agree with you in that I don’t care who he is banging as long as he wins football games, but I think it’s a very reasonable question to ask whether he is fully focused on being the University of North Carolina head football coach. It’s also reasonable to question, IMO, the wisdom of firing one 73 year old football coach who had long lost his fastball, in favor of hiring another 73-year-old football coach who has lost his fastball; who
is an apparent romantic relationship with someone five decades his junior who seems to be more and more of a growing sideshow/distraction; and who hired both of his sons as coaches and one of his best friends as GM who in turn hired his own son to be quarterbacks coach.

All I’m saying is that there are plenty of reasons to question whether or not this whole thing is going to go down spectacularly badly. I’m certainly not hoping that it goes down spectacularly badly. In fact, I’d want nothing more than for UNC to be elite in football, and for it to be Bill Belichick who leads us there. But there are tons of flashing red warning signs to me and apparently to a lot of other folks as well.

I said when UNC hired Butch Davis AND when UNC hired Mack Brown that I don’t like hiring coaches who aren’t currently coaching……doing so means you not only have to hire the head coach; you have to hire the whole damned staff……not just the assistants….the whole STAFF!

Bill Bellichik (sp?) didn’t hire a studly staff……..just like Mack Brown and Butch Davis hired inferior staffs; I fear Bill Bellichik (sp?) has hired an inferior staff.

I still don’t give a shit about his girlfriend.
