I don't know. I didn't watch the whole game, but I watched the highlights. The defense didn't play that poorly -- not as poorly as the score looked. The first play of the game, that lateral-and-throw -- good call by Clemson and hard for the defense to track. The second possession was just bad, and #31 got wrecked for a TD on another play.

But overall, I thought the defense made some plays, and forced Clemson to make some big time throws and catches to move the ball.

The offense is obviously the big blaring neon sign of terribleness.

Man, Clemson was averaging literally almost 40 yards per play for like the entire first quarter and a half. The defense was absolutely atrocious until Clemson had mercy on us and put their waterboys in.

That double pass on the first play from scrimmage was one of the worst ones I’ve ever seen executed and it worked perfectly. A slow pass 7 yards behind the line of scrimmage. There are high school defenses that could have stopped it.

‘Clemson completed 19 of its first 20 passes for 300 yards and five touchdowns. The Tigers had scoring plays of 75, 35, 45, 23 and eight yards in the first half. And this isn’t a vintage Clemson team, entering the game at 1-3 with two ACC losses already.’

Clemson could have scored 70. They took out the starters at half time.

Not a lot of talent to work with even in a weak ACC
 
A complete disaster. UNC shelled out a top 10 level of $$$ commitment. What did it get us? We got two incompetent coach's sons on staff. A useless GM (coach's buddy) that brought in the worst talent in Power 4/5. Said GM's son also hired as a terrible coach. $4 Million spent on an FCS level QB, and not even top FCS level. And a head coach more interested in a golddigging granddaughter than coaching and winning. He will resign after season, and pay $0 to get out of "contract.". Those idiots that came up with this scheme should be booted off the board and barred from campus.

Yet you know that they’re going to try and blame it on Bill Friday/Dean Smith or the woke Democrats! Stupid is what Stupid does and the whole MAGA crowd is the confirmation of the Dunning-Kruger theory!

I'm sure someone already responded to this but this is not true. Well, it's true that our offense sucks. It is not true that our defense did not play bad. Our defense was atrocious. Clemson was on pace for 1000 yards and 112 points after the 1st Q. The only reason it wasn't worse was that Clemson stopped trying after that.

The IC crowd convinced me big $ commitment wouldn't have come from a Glen Schuman or Sumrall type, and the entire transaction meant unc being serious about fball going fwd. So it felt a bit like a long-term win with a potential culture change coming from a hardass who knew what tough, fundamentally good fball looked like. I never fathomed how embarrassing this season might be.

Was chatting with someone who is in a position to have to deal with the fallout from this mess and one of the first things they pointed out was how Preyer and company have "crawled back under a rock".
