If WRAL was the only one reporting it you might have a point. But they're not.I was not attempting to refute anything. And of course there are times when anonymous sources are necessary. I would almost bet the wral anchorman didn't talk to anyone. He does not have time to do actual reporting. I am just not buying the chaos etc from a coach notoriously strident and organized. I say again I talked to bunch of former players close to program and none of that. Call me unimpressed the anchor could find an unhappy parent if he did indeed. How about anecdotes? Give examples. I'm out. Said my piece. Time will tell.
Belichick is 73 man. He's the oldest coach in college football. He's not what he once was. And he's not overseeing and coaching 50 players in their 20s and 30s, many of whom have played professionally for years. He's overseeing and coaching 100+ 18-23 year old kids, many of whom have been away from home and living on their own for only weeks or months. And he has limits on how much of their time he can get during the week because they're going to college. It's not even close to the same task in terms of how you interact with and control and coach the players. The job he's doing now is not the one he was great at, and he hasn't even been great at that job for several years now. No one should be at all surprised that he misunderstood - and/or failed to take the time to try to understand - what the job would be.
