No offense, but weren't you the poster in the basketball thread who said that you don't even like college sports anymore? If that wasn't you, I apologize. Regardless, some people will never be happy. That doesn't mean that you have to drag the rest of us down to your level. Believe it or not, some of us actually enjoy seeing UNC win and are happy for our team.
Stop being a dick. People have whatever opinions they have about the current status of college athletics for various reasons.

Yes, people can have their opinions. That includes me. I'm people.
Agreed and I didnt try to tell you what opinion to have. Thats my point. You're berating someone for their opinion because you dont like it. I really don't think Zoo was trying to bring anyone down to his level....just saying what he feels.

By the way, drop the "no offense". Nobody (including you) says it genuinely. It is always followed by an offense.

Would it have been better for me to say "no offense, stop being a dick."?

Team trending well seems to have upset some folks. I thought we would be better out of the gate and slowly get better. Half right.
The Wednesday after Clemson I thought it was over. I was ready to fire BB but turns out so much of what was reported was BS. No buyout talk. If team was in turmoil they have not played like it. I thought recruiting would go in toilet. The portal QB failure is the main drag. Good QB we are probably top 35 team. Mostly I want to see the before and after picture of this team. It does matter if we close strong. Anytime UNC plays it matters to me. It is very easy for me to see a really good product in the next 3 to 4 years with this staff and better players. I think SB is a star and the DL coach too. Feeling better about Lombardi.

Seems obvious to me that this staff is all in

So predictable that you’re trying to take a weird victory lap by acting like the rest of us don’t want to see the team win lol. I can’t imagine being so smooth brained.

i cant get excited or fooled over beating a bad acc team with no qb. they literally did not have a qb. yall think gio is bad? ive seen pee wee qbs better than that walk on lacrosse player.
Yes, he was atrocious. A win is a win maybe there's someway we can build on it or maybe I'm simply wishful thinking.

No. Not the rest of us. Lots of folks who were skeptical are feeling better. As I said I thought it was over the Wednesday after Clemson. I got 8 season tix and I'm 68 and I am thinking I will die before we are relevant. Still might. There is genuine optimism on IC and here as well. Some seem to struggle to enjoy better play. I am just happy for those kids who did not roll over. Next week I expect good crowd and fun day.

If you expect a good crowd, you will be sorely disappointed.

cuse power ranking around 90 will be lucky to be in top 120 at end of year with that walk on qb. stanford power ranking will not be in top 90 after pitt beats them today. again, i cant get excited over beating bottom dwellers. wins over them are nothing more than bad wins

Maybe. But I'm a half full guy. So if we can fill it up halfway plus 1, works for me.

No such thing as a bad win for this year's team. Holding 'cuse to less than 150 total yards is pretty impressive no matter how 'cuse might be...

Odds of having a winning season just went from 10,000 to 1 to 50 to 1

Went to sleep at half last night, woke up this morning and saw we won and decided to watch he second half on replay. From my observation, the following two things appear to be true:

1. Sincere props to the players and staff for not throwing in the towel on the season when it would have been easy to do so, not only after the humiliation against Clemson, but also the back to back "snatch defeat from the jaws of victory" games the last two weeks. The team is very clearly improving game by game, as you would hope and expect a team would over the course of a 12 game season. After looking completely lost against TCU, UCF, and Clemson, the defense looks way more so like one that I'd expect to be coached by Bill Belichick.

2. Syracuse is an awful football team, with the worst defense in the ACC, was playing their 4th string walk-on lax player-turned-quarterback, and likely won't win another game this season. They had no chance with that kind of limitation. If we had lost to them last night, it would have been the program's worst loss since Furman in 1999.

Both of those things said, I am glad we won- mostly for all of the players, coaches, and support staff. I've been part of losing teams and it's miserable. All of those folks are clearly still working hard every day to get better and it was nice to see their effort rewarded last night, no matter who the opponent was. Whereas after the Clemson game, I thought there was exactly zero chance whatsoever of this Bill Belichick experiment working out for us, now after the last three weeks, I believe it's still quite a long shot overall but not an impossibility.

I remain skeptical about three things: 1. the staff's plan to try to rebuild this mess with a ~45 person high school recruiting class next year; 2. the staff's (primarily Lombardi's) hubris in how they evaluate player personnel; 3. how shockingly undisciplined, non-detail oriented and sloppy the entire on-field operation still is. Until or unless Belichick is willing to 1. jettison Lombardi and bring in actual collegiate player personnel staffers with actual experience successfully evaluating collegiate player personnel, and 2. completely change our offensive philosophy in the offseason, I think it's going to be a continuation of the "8 wins is pretty good around here" mediocrity that has defined Carolina football for decades.

All of that said, glad to have won last night, and hope we can continue to build on the last three weeks by winning the "state championship" over the last 3 weeks of the season.

Hey, it seemed to my eyes that the whole BB thing was a train wreck carrying a shit show headed for nowhere.

But, on the chance, as slim it may be, that BB is smarter than we thought and has tapped into a winning “process” I’m going to be here for it.

Go Heels!

150 yds is a lot for an offense with no qb. his qb rating was 1.9

I’d love to see Bill Belichick get a Mayonnaise bath………except for one thing…….a Mayo Bowl win likely means a contract extension.
I doubt he’d get an extension on his contract for making & winning the Mayo Bowl, as disappointing as this season has been overall.

He already signed a contract that is only guaranteed for 3 years, which means length of contract (& amount of buyout) is forefront of the PTB’s mind, so I doubt they’d add a guaranteed year at this point.

I know the Orange aren’t great on offense but we’ve strung together some impressive defense performances. Really liking SB as our DC (best defense since Butch with less talented players). The offense and Gio is slowly improving each week. June may be an emerging star.

Thank you Heels for allowing me to enjoy football today with a smile on my face.
