On the season we're 22nd in yards per play defensively. 39th in pts per play.
12th in yards per rush given up.

And these will probably go up after WF next week :⁠-⁠)

A lot of people don’t realize this but the reason that Mack got fired last season was because he won more than 7 games a few times. It looked like he finally had us back on track to regress back to our historical average last year, but I guess the PTB didn’t want to take any chances so they hired Belichick to make sure we never threaten going better than 7-5 for at least a few more seasons.

Not because he actually talks to the players though. I think it’s very strange that he literally doesn’t speak to a single player during the course of the game. Watch any other D1 coach and they’re talking to players throughout the game. It’s almost as if the players have been told not to approach the coach …

Just a reminder, college players are kids, no matter how professional the game has become.

I typically don’t watch football on the CW, and so don’t have a lot of experience with their broadcast crew. I found them quite lacking. Repeated claims that Stanford was dominating the game, when they had less than 100 yards of offense and were losing. Then they quickly switched to say that Carolina was dominating, even though we were only up a touchdown.

That CW announcing crew was just trying to hype a BAD game between two poor teams.

Opened as a 5.5 dog -- up to 6.5 at some books.

Wake winning at UVA was a best case scenario for us. This team seems to perform better with a chip on its shoulder.

TV Network and Kickoff time for the dook game on 11/22 has been put on a 6 day hold pending results of this coming weekend's games along with 3 other conference games including Pitt/Ga Tech, Louisville/SMU, and Miami/Va Tech.
 
Well it's possible we could win out and be 7-5. I'd say that would be one heck of a season all things considered. Could build a lot of momentum off of that. We could also lose all three.

Likely gonna be a rock fight with two bad offenses, while Wake has a pretty good defense and ours has been improving. IMO turnovers are likely to be the difference.
