An 11 seed that has played in Dayton has won at least one additional game in every NCAAT in which there have been play-in games. I like UNC's chances to do the same should we beat SDSU in Dayton. Ole Miss is beatable on Friday, and then potentially getting Iowa State who will be without their best player on Sunday....

Massive amount of attention and nothing to talk about yet leads to stupid points being thrown out there.

So the pundits seem to believe that the 14 SEC teams is fine but the ACC’s 4 is too many.

Eff them.
Most of the pundits work for ESPN and ESPN's investment in the SEC is far greater than the ACC. It ain't just football where they are kissing the SEC's ass.

My God. We've become that team that parties like it's 1999 just getting into the tourney. I miss the days when UNC being in the tourny was the rule, not the exception. FFS.
You seem to have missed the point of the video. It’s about good vibes. Not your glory days b.s. Those kids have been through a lot and they’re happy as hell, and resolute and ready to fight.

If you think you’ve been through more than they have and in your entitlement you’re whining and pining for those good ol’ days, please beat it and stop screwing with the vibe over here in reality. FFS.

No, I get the point. And I'm also entitled to have my opinion. Of course I'll be rooting for the Heels, but you can take your participation trophy and shove it up your ass. Prick.

I find it funny that people take these "who's in/who's out" arguments so seriously. The bad decision -- or what might appear to some as being a bad decision -- is the whole point. And it's why we have year-long bracketology.

I don't know if it was the NFL who first figured it out, but basically all of sports marketing has become finding ways to monetize content when there's no game. The NFL draft isn't just popular on TV -- it's a whole fucking mini-industry unto itself. That's where there are zillions of mock drafts, or mock draft 2.0, or Mel Kiper v1.0 drafting against Mel Kiper v.2.0.

Maybe ESPN pioneered the approach with its emphasis on the studio as a principal setting for sports action. It's why Stephen A Smith got $100M. He's not actually a commentator. He's the product. I rarely watch those shows, but I watched one a few years ago. They are sort of incomprehensible if you know nothing about the personalities. Same with Inside The NBA.

And so has college sports taken the same model. Multiple rounds of announcing the "leaders" for the CFP. Year round bracketology. Senseless arguments about who got robbed of an inclusion that is highly likely to end in imminent defeat.

Probably I was the same way once. I cared about bracketology. So I shouldn't be hard on people. And sometimes it can be entertaining (Inside the NBA more than a couple of others). It's just odd the way that the non-game content almost seems to overwhelm the actual game.

Times have changed(not just for UNC).
Comparing today to what was going on just 5 years ago isn’t really valid.

In life you should always be happy when something good happens you’re not guaranteed anything.

Forgot he was out. Probably would've won a few more games than they did
It’ll be interesting to see what kind of game shape he’ll be in. A big of his size who hasn’t played in a month will likely need a bit of time to acclimate to game action again.

I’m friends with some SDSU alums and what I’m hearing is that Gwath is athletic, long and thin. But he’s awkward and pretty up and down, and can disappear. Overall they’re a very good defensive team and they live and die by the three.

Feels like it’ll be a battle of styles, and if they can slow the game down and muck it up, it could be a rock fight. But Gwath can’t be any better than Maluach, so if the Heels can play like they did in that second half, then they can control things even if shots aren’t falling from deep. I know that their fans are up in arms about Carolina making it in, but mostly because they would rather be playing someone else.

I feel cautiously optimistic. Leaning more optimistic than cautious.
