UNC ONLY BASKETBALL 2024-25 SEASON

One thing that I don’t understand is why they were switching 1-5, at all. MSU left several points on the floor by not exposing that more than they did. When you have Seth guarding a big in the paint you are probably going to be in a bad position. It happened last year too early on but then they stopped doing it after teams started taking advantage of it. Why start back now?
 
Disappointing showing from the basketball team + a humiliating beating from State on the football field is just a staple of UNC athletics during Thanksgiving week. You can basically set your watch to it at this point.
 
Thats what you get when you hire a nobody coach to coach a blue blood. Hard to believe RJ is our highest paid NIL player. He is at such a disadvantage on the defensive end that he has to score 30+ to even it out.

Huge portal misses and recruiting misses to not have at least 1 average center on the roster.

Mich st was missing their best player to boot.
 
Call me an optimist, but I believe in synergy in sports. I don't believe that RJ will continue to shoot 27 % from three. Right now, we're like a car not firing on all cylinders. When we do, I expect everyone will feel less pressured and less rushed and our performance will greatly improve as the team finds their roles.

Since I've seen some variation of woe is me for about 55 of the last 60 years, I'm going to wait until at least Christmas to give up. I think it'll probably April though. I'm so old and out of touch that I pull for the team even if they aren't doing as well as I hoped.
 
The fans today are the equivalent of the people who were born on third. In the 60s, making the tournament wasn't a given. I remember our trip to the NIT in my freshman year in the Spring of 71. I think I might value the team more because of that history than I value the team's success. UNC basketball and its values have for a long time run more deeply than the win/loss record to me.

Iow, all you whiners go piss up a rope.

Nah. The CBB season is a journey over 5 months. What teams are in November aren’t what they will be 2 months from now.

The days of just steam rolling to 30+ wins every year are over.

This team is going to be good, top 3 in the ACC and a chance to make a run in the NCAAT.

The doomsday pearl clutching before Thanksgiving is emotional.

A legit center and a couple of physical guards who can play defense are not magically appearing. Yes, we will win some games because the ACC is bad. A run in NCAA is nothing more than false hope.

it’s not doomsday pearl clutching to be at least somewhat concerned that we already have 3 losses by Thanksgiving lol. Come on now.
