the ACC was never in the sort of love affair ($$$$) with ESPN that the SEC is right now.
I remember driving home from our summer vacation in 2021 and hearing the news on the radio of Texas and Oklahoma joining the SEC. I knew in the moment that was the end of college sports. Adding those two brands changed the economics so much that nobody else could really compete. Even the Big 10.

I believe Ken Pomeroy has addressed the issue of garbage time in the past. I think he said when he adjusted his formula to diminish the effect of garbage time it made it less accurate. So while giving up 28 points in six minutes at the end of a game that was never in doubt doesn’t really mean anything to that particular contest, the analysts would say that still has meaning as to the quality of the team.

So how ya feeling about tomorrow’s Yum game?
Louisville has played some good teams - 5 in the top 25.
Didn’t win any of them, but they gave #12 Oklahoma all they wanted.
But they’ve been battle tested by top teams so it’s not like they’ve played a cupcake, non-conference schedule.

I have my doubts about this one. Especially if Trimble can’t go.

This game will be pretty telling.

It's a decent matchup. Louisville without much in the front court

Not good defensively. Shoot a bunch of threes despite not being a good shooting team

Hepburn is their best player. Tough 2-way guard, leads team in points and assists

Need to rebound missed 3s and get out in transition. Should be a game UNC wins but I'd feel a lot better with Seth in the lineup

Louisville is a very good rebounding team. They shoot a LOT of 3s, but so far haven't been making a high percentage.

6-11 James Scott from Fayetteville is their main inside presence. He only shoots about 3 FGAs/game, but makes almost 90%. Great rebounder and shot blocker, but foul prone, and a poor FT shooter.

6-11 6th-yr Sr Noah Waterman has been described as a 6-11 2G. He shoots almost 3x as many 3s as 2s. Career 37% 3FG%. Also a little foul prone.

6-6 J'Vonne Hadley plays the 3-4, is a tenacious rebounder.

6-6 Terrence Edwards is a transfer from last season's very good JMU team. He plays the 2-3 and contributes in multiple ways.

6-2 Chucky Hepburn is a transfer who had a very good career at Wisconsin. He is tough and experienced. He can control the game.

Many of you may remember 6-2 2G Reyne Smith from Australia via College of Charleston. In his 4th collegiate basketball game, he lit up Carolina for 19 pts on 5-11 3FGAs as a freshman at College of Charleston. Career 37% 3FG%.

Quad 1 game for Carolina. Need this one.
