The pigeon playing chess analogy is in no way original to me (I think I first heard it in the Hillary debate context). Steal away, I know I did. This is hilarious. Do you mind if I borrow it?

Whoever "won," it was a split decision with no knockdowns. If it actually moved the needle for anyone I'm guessing it was for Walz b/c he was more likeable...I didn’t say anything last night because the board consensus seemed to be that Vance won. That didn’t jive with my feelings while watching it, but it seems like the focus group polling is more indicative of a tie or slight Walz win.
That’s not true at all. Kamala appears incredibly prepared. Her dismantling and unhinging of Trump in the debate was a masterclass. I like Walz, but Kamala is quite a bit smarter than him. Walz has a tough to fake genuineness about him that is sorely lacking in most politicians and that’s why he’s resonating, but the one I’d want answering the proverbial 3 AM phone call between the two is Kamala.Sadly, and even if you dislike them and their politics, both VP candidates seem more prepared, and better options in general, than their Presidential candidate counterpart.
I would not say he's obviously Yale educated. He's obviously educated at law school, sure. But he's at least two notches below typical Yale Law grads (who aren't all that great to begin with, Yale being the most overrated law school in existence). He’s an obvious Yale-educated lawyer who just strikes people as weird.
I’ve never been a fan of ranking people by intelligence, but in terms of who I’d trust to handle that 2am call, I’m going —That’s not true at all. Kamala appears incredibly prepared. Vance on the other hand is the polar opposite of Walz. He’s a smooth-talking politician who says what he thinks the audience wants to hear in order to try to win votes then does what he wants anyway. He’s an obvious Yale-educated lawyer who just strikes people as weird. He is, however, infinitely more competent and capable than Donald Trump. If Vance were at the top of the ticket, I would view him as a political threat to things that are important to me such as abortion access, healthcare, and minority and LGBTQ rights, but I would not view him as an existential threat to the republic or our lives the way I view Donald Trump.
Eh, Walz is fine. He's probably not super smart, but intelligence is fairly low down the traits that you need for that 2AM phone call. You've got all the intelligence in the world at your fingertips (and yes, you have to be able to digest it but we're not dealing with quantum mechanics here or something else that's really hard to understand). What you need is good judgment. I think Walz has that. I agree that I'd prefer to have Kamala in that situation.I’ve never been a fan of ranking people by intelligence, but in terms of who I’d trust to handle that 2am call, I’m going —
1. Kamala by a mile
2. Walz/Debate Vance
3. Pre-debate Vance
4,000,000,000. Trump
So your wasting your vote? Wow.Trump has set the record for worst president and worst presidential candidate, but, after watching debate highlights, I think Tim Walz would have a better shot against Trump than Kamala. Walz is more charismatic and comes across, IMO, as more authentic. He's a better debater, better at speaking without a teleprompter. He's not saddled with 3.5 years of economic/immigration issues. He doesn't have the history of significant political flip-flops and he's a "he".
For the record, I'm not voting for Trump or Harris, so I don't have a dog in this fight.
Idiotic statement. Nobody who saw the Harris/Trump debate could come out of it thinking she wasn’t supremely prepared.Sadly, and even if you dislike them and their politics, both VP candidates seem more prepared, and better options in general, than their Presidential candidate counterpart.
Vance won hands down. Walz couldn't defend the Harris record.
Walz denied Kamala Harris has let millions of illegal aliens invade the country after she decimated President Trump’s border security.
Walz was unable to name a single thing Kamala has done for the middle class during her tenure.
Walz bizarrely claimed he has “become friends with school shooters.”
Walz lied about President Trump’s tariffs many of which were so successful, the Harris-Biden administration kept them in place.
Walz ignored the fact that most Americans trust President Trump on the economy.
Tiananmen Tim humiliated himself trying to explain why he lied about being in Hong Kong during the Tiananmen Square massacre when he was actually in Nebraska.
Walz refused to say if he supports ANY limits on abortion-on-demand after he legalized unrestricted abortion-on-demand until birth in Minnesota.
Walz lied about a law he signed in Minnesota eliminating the requirement to provide lifesaving care for babies born alive following botched abortions.
Walz admitted he “learned a lot of what needed to be in governance” from communist China.
Vance called out Walz for his support of censoring the views of Americans with whom he disagrees.
And it was his first post, I wonder if this is a new version of OCS?
But I do agree that trump reminds me of a pigeon trying to play chess. If you watched two high school chess club players play a chess match against each other ,and then watched Magus Carlsen play chess against a pigeon that just strutted around, knocked over all the pieces, and shat all over the board, you'd come to precisely the same conclusion.
I'm not saying that Kamala is Magnus, what I am saying is that your blowing past some obvious structural disadvantages that Kamala had to contend with.
OCS is a bit more subtle. That post had a BankerMatt or mgholdings level of irrational anger to it.And it was his first post, wonder if the is a new version of OCS?
Maybe he woke up, it's deleted now.
Something about his registration tripped the spam filter. But, I can't quite figure out what it was. It will delete the content, ban the poster, IPs, etc. if it detects certain red flags
