As a person/leader/communicator, an Obama-type should be the norm. Harris is nowhere close to Obama.
Do you think it is more likely that the next Obama will come from the GOP or from the Dems? I mean, if Obama is the standard, then probably you should be voting Dem.

Whatever you say about Kamala, the GOP hasn't run a candidate in well over a generation that is half as good as her by your proposed Obama standard. GWB spoke like a man of very average intelligence. Trump is certifiably a moron. Romney was inauthentic, smarmy and didn't connect with people. Bob Dole, LOL.

“… According to the ratings firm, about 57.9 million people tuned in to watch then-Vice President Mike Pence debate current Vice President Kamala Harris. The majority of viewers this year were over 55 years, according to the ratings agency, with over 29.6 million of all viewers falling into the oldest demographic category. Only about 3 million viewers in the youngest voting demographic, 18-34, tuned in to the matchup, the ratings firm said. …”

No surprise. Vice presidential debates almost never move the needle in any appreciable sense. Even if a candidate bombs, as Dan Quayle infamously did in 1988, it doesn't affect the polls or the outcome of the election. Vance may have helped himself slightly as a potential 2028 GOP presidential candidate if Trump loses this year, although even that is arguable. Given how quickly things have moved this election year, it's likely that this debate will be completely forgotten within a week.

Voting for Harris won't make the next Obama appear any sooner.

I'd

Voting for a mediocre Dem candidate isn't going to make the next Obama appear. If anything it's the opposite.

He's not going to undermine Trump. It's a no-win situation. He knows the election wasn't stolen, but can't say it.
He said out loud that if he were VP in 2020 he would not have certified the election. This was before he was Trump’s VP candidate.
What he knows doesn’t matter compared to what we know - he is a danger to democracy.

Binary choice:
  • Repudiate MAGA
  • Don't repudiate MAGA
If you claim repudiating MAGA doesn't move the ball in the direction of the goals you publicly stated on this thread, you are blowing smoke up our asses and deserve to be ignored as the bad faith actor you are..

Please elaborate

On that point, I would agree. if he followed through on that, it would be a legitimate threat to democracy.

We seem to be getting to the point where the only requirement for being president is that you are not obviously mentally compromised... Though you could argue that Trump is probably mentally compromised but in a different way than Biden.

When that becomes the case, and we don't seem to have standards, much less high standards, for our candidates, truly intelligent, good, quality people may decide not to run.

Kamala Harris checks every box for me.
