Politics Where do we go from here?

Then the way forward is to act and "code" as a moderate or as a "common man" and find an economic message / opponent to go after and ram it home every single day. Obama won on healthcare, opportunity, and jobs while seeming like a cool dude to the millions of voters who barely pay attention...

Politics Where do we go from here?

The point is that the Rs have been trending from being the "High-education, High-income" party to the "Low-education, Low-income" party and the dems have done the opposite. Many of the country club and suburban Rs have flipped D while rural whites and now minorities have started to go R...

Presented without further comment besides the fact that the only winning coalition will be less educated on average than the Harris 2024 coalition.

Politics Where do we go from here?

This. Not Bernie's policies specifically, but his attitude and perceived authenticity goes a very long way. Make a movement and people will vote for that movement, but you need the right kind of politician to break through. Obama did, Bernie did, and Trump did. Be concise and ram that...

Politics Where do we go from here?

If we look back over the last three cycles from the rise of Trump until today, you can see a complete repudiation of both the country club and neocon conservatives that had dominated the GOP since Watergate. Sure, plenty of these groups have and will continue to support Rs due to many reasons...

Politics 2024 Pre-Election Political Polls | POLL - Trump would have had 7 point lead over Biden

Texas also had 7 more days of in-person early voting in 2020. Going to be some temporal changes in terms of when various groups vote. Exhibit #47 as to why analyzing the early vote doesn't tell you much other than there are people voting

Politics 2024 Pre-Election Political Polls | POLL - Trump would have had 7 point lead over Biden

I'm listed as "undesignated". Pretty sure it's something with using the DMV forms to update voter registration and how it is then entered in the system. I'd expect it to match the underlying gender splits 50/50

Politics 2024 Presidential Election | ELECTION DAY 2024

And this is why I, a near daily listener for many years, more or less stopped listening to them.

Politics 2024 Pre-Election Political Polls | POLL - Trump would have had 7 point lead over Biden

Am curious how many "ancestral Dems" are still out there in the more rural parts of the state that have voted for Trump 1x or 2x now. Know that is especially prominent in many Southern states

Politics 2024 Presidential Election | ELECTION DAY 2024

At this point it feels like we are waiting for a 3-point shot to fall while down 2 late in a game. Media needs to print something hence the chattering from "insiders".

Politics 2024 Presidential Election | ELECTION DAY 2024

For the Jewish friend that might be more of a feature than a bug after Oct 7th. Fearful of rising anti-semitism and US abandoning Israel in the long run. For the Muslim friend - they are firmly in the camp of "genocide is already occuring under Dems so the only way to get the Dems to stop...

Politics 2024 Presidential Election | ELECTION DAY 2024

Insane to me, and purely anecdotal, but I have both a conservative anti-trump Jewish friend (voted 3rd party '16 and '20 but otherwise is typically Republican) and a progressive Muslim friend (HRC and Biden in '16 and '20) that are both voting for Trump over Israel/Palestine. Both are UNC...

As much as I love it, no way no how is she flipping FL. Desantis has turned it into a MAGA theme park

Politics 2024 Pre-Election Political Polls | POLL - Trump would have had 7 point lead over Biden

I would be curious to see overall trends of voter registration by county. A lot of ancestral Dems in NC despite Republicans winning the presidency every cycle except '08 Comparing to 2020 is a fool's errand, but do hope the enthusiasm shows up for Dems right through election day.

Politics Roll Call: Who is voting early? Who is waiting til Nov. 5 (and why?)

#454 in south Durham county at noon, waiting 45 mins. Discussing with some people there and the line has been 45-60 mins since 8 am. Older gentleman in front of me was decked out in UNC gear. Doubt he was a Trump voter
