I don't see it this way at all in terms of voter impact. This doesn't motivate maga turnout, doesn't tamper non-maga turnout, and Undecideds (mostly low info at this point) in 7 swing states certainly hear way more vile things from maga on an hourly basis OR are so low-info they won't notice this ambiguous and barely harsh comment.

Republicans and right-wing media live for this shit - it's an easy way to keep their base riled up and angry. Not surprisingly, Fox News is all over this Biden remark, as I'm sure are OAN and Newsmax and other conservative media. Having said that, the only people who are going to care are Trump's own supporters, and they were already voting for him anyway. Nobody outside that base is going to be swayed by this.

And I'll also add that it is the height of hypocrisy for Republicans to get all offended at this remark given they way they all talk about Democrats. Hell, at Trump's NYC rally they threatened to kill Democrats, called them evil and satanic, and all sorts of crap. But of course they were the ones doing the attacking then, so it's all OK. But let something like this happen and they are immediately outraged. It's truly ridiculous.

Personally, I’m way more annoyed by the attempt to contextualize the “Trump supporters are garbage” than I am by the gaffe itself. If Biden had been more willing to take off the gloves a lot sooner and call those stupid motherfuckers exactly what they are a lot sooner, he might still be the nominee.

But yeah, anyone who thinks that this moves one single solitary vote in either direction needs to log off for the day and either go touch some grass or smoke some.
