1. Thankful and eternally grateful for everything Biden has done. Brought us out of both the Covid pandemic, both with regards to health and financial, and ushered us out of the Trump presidency despite all of Trump’s attempts to subvert democracy.
2. His comment was clumsy, benign but most of all true.
3. With that said, please don’t make anymore comments. We get what you mean and understand and agree. But Trump was taking a standing 8 count after the MSG racism, and Kamala’s speech was knocking him down again. The comment has given them a small out. We can say this will only resonate with MAGA, but at the gym this morning, every single tv that was set to news was talking about Biden’s garbage comment. Not Kamala’s great speech in front of a bigly crowd and not Trump’s MSG rally. All Biden and garbage. I get Joe wants to be present and it really was relatively benign, but it has charged the news cycle. And the press is all about giving Trump a pass on his day in day out chaos and focusing on the minutiae of the Harris campaign. Last thing you want to do is throw them, and Trump, softballs. <\vent>
4. Let’s get more coverage of Kamala in Raleigh and Charlotte and surrogates elsewhere and get the news cycle back! 😀
It really makes one question the media, other than fox, if this was the top story over the actual presidential rallies.

NPR led off their 10:00 am and 11:00 am top-of-the-hour news reports with Biden’s gaffe reporting that he’d called Trump supporters garbage and that Harris had to disavow Biden’s comments.

NPR does yeoman’s work this election cycle ‘Bo-siding and sane-washing.
NPR just led off its 1:00 pm news update with this ‘Bo-siding BS.

Unless the belief is that Biden’s comment is going to somehow suppress Democratic votes, it doesn’t matter how many of these hypothetical and theoretical low-propensity Trump voters turn out who are apparently engaged enough to know what’s going on in the right wing outrage sphere but weren’t previously motivated to go out and vote for Trump.

And, it might discourage some low-propensity Harris voters from from turning out.
I have long suspected that I’m the dumbest person on this board but now I must be the most naive, as well. You think there are would-be Harris voters out there who are going to *suddenly not* go to the polls all because a guy who isn’t even on the ticket called Trump supporters garbage?

I feel like some are taking an analytical approach to the Biden gaffe, which makes sense - everyone here is intelligent and educated. Some voters do not take an analytical approach in determining who to vote for or whether or not they will vote at all. They vote if they have time and feel motivated and vote for whomever they like better. That's why these October surprises (that shouldn't really move the needle) do in-fact move the needle. And if it only motivates 1% of voters who otherwise would not have voted in Penn., you may have a different President elect.

Arnold endorses Harris

My only Republican vote for governor, which in truth was a vote against Gray Davis. Arnold was pretty ineffective as a governor because he really didn't understand the power of the teacher unions in California, or really, most politics. That said, he is about as liberal as a Republican gets.
