Whatever happens, I'm proud of the campaign Harris ran and have no gripes about anything she did or didn't do. I think she did the best she could possibly do given the circumstances. No major gaffes, solid VP pick, strong debate performance, strong online presence, good messaging.

If she loses it's because of forces outside of her control, I can live with that.

I was thinking last night about how near perfect she's been. There have been some flubs from people around her (including Biden), but it's really hard to think of major mistakes she's made. An amazing job under the most difficult circumstances.

This is like re-living the buildup to the UNC-Duke Final Four game. I’m an emotional mess. Hopefully, we’ll have positive results this time, too.
I feel this. Waiting through the Kansas/Nova game was gut wrenching.

However, I don't think a Kamala W would get me to the same level of pure bliss I felt walking out of the Superdome that night.

I certainly wouldn’t call them major mistakes, but the two things that annoyed the shit out of me were her publicly scolding Palestinian protestors early on, and then just last week in the Ellipse speech not mentioning Puerto Rico even once in the wake of the MSG debacle.

I also think she played it a bit too cautious in not distancing herself enough from Biden policies and being too careful not to second guess him or his policies. Granted, that’s a very tough line to walk in her position.

Thankfully I don’t think any of these will affect the outcome much, and she’ll win comfortably thanks to a (mostly) excellent campaign.

FTR, I think that the self-proclaimed ”moderate free-thinking conservatives” are much more to blame than liberals, but I get the gist of this thread.

Not sure what I am supposed to do here. Fly into NC and lock my parents in a closet so they can't vote? They support bad people and have revealed that at their core they are bad people too. Our relationship is all but permanently broken. I don't see how their being horrible human beings is my fault.

Totally agree with you. Like I said, I’m not sure I really agree with that Twitter thread being directed at *liberals*. I think that blaming liberals for Donald Trump in 2024 is, frankly, idiotic. Donald Trump in 2024 is the direct result of too many Republicans either being the most craven cowards in American history, or being openly complicit.

My husband said the exact same thing last night. We were in Philadelphia for the Sweet 16 and Final 8 games and it only struck us what was about to happen sitting in our hotel room the night before the Elite 8 game. From then to the end of that Final Four game we were both a wreck.

I actually always assumed that Blue Devil fans didn’t experience the pure anxiety/adrenaline double rush in anticipation of that Final Four game because they were so certain this was divine intervention to set them up to avenge the home loss in Durham on the way to K going out with a national title, but could be wrong about that.

LOLOLOL I once saw a Raleigh Ice Caps game there, and it looked like about the same exact crowd size. Trump is losing North Carolina bigly!

He has inundated the market with too many NC appearances in too large of venues in too short of time. And Monday morning in Raleigh seems like a shit time for any kind of meeting of any significant size, TBH. For all we know there are thousands of people out there stuck in traffic with their Trump flags limp as cars stop and go.

Eh, maybe all of that is true, but look at all of his rallies in literally all of the other places/states he's been going to recently. They have all of the energy, excitement, and attendance of the Dean Dome for a 9 PM November game against Gardner-Webb.
