A ton of local Indians and other Asians in this area are conservative due to immigration. Some of them have jumped through so many hoops to get their families here the legal way.

Well, we got our trans surgeries at the reeducation camps. Pretty simple process that I had done at my local elementary school.

American Indians or South Asians?

I hate that we still use the word Indian to refer to Native Americans. I understand; that's how our law is written, and my understanding is that some tribes like to be called Indian. But it's still a pain in the ass for those of us with family connections to India. My son describes himself as half-Indian and in his crowd people know what he means, but if he went to Oklahoma and described himself that way, everyone would get the wrong impression.
