I am increasingly skeptical that there will ever again be elections for federal office in the sense of having an outcome not be predetermined by the current regime. I dont say that to be reactionary or overly paranoid. I just feel that the current path is one of escalating WTF moments that the public isnt prepared for.
You might be right. The word you're looking for is "too reactive." Reactionary is what they are. It wasn't a distinction that was terribly important a decade ago, but it is today.

Rather than copy/paste the definitions of each from an online dictionary, which wouldn't be useful, I'll say that these are examples of what I'm talking about:

"My platform is that every single person should have housing, and I think faced with these two options, the system has hundreds of thousands of people unhoused, right? For what?" Mamdani questioned in a resurfaced video that has been clipped and reposted across conservative social media.

"If there was any system that could guarantee each person housing, whether you call it the abolition of private property or you call it, you know, just a statewide housing guarantee, it is preferable to what is going on right now," Mamdani said.

Mamdani sparks firestorm with resurfaced comment on abolishing private property: 'He's a communist'

That “from each according to their ability, to each according to their need.” WHO said that? ~Dean Smith?

This is what I've been saying. The Dems know that there is a huge opportunity next year for a tsunami. Let me describe how I think that conversation went.

Schum: Sherrod, you mensch. You always do the right thing for the working man. Will you please run for Senate in 2026.
Sherrod: Well, I was going to retire . . .
Schum: Guys like you don't retire. You just take a break.
Sherrod: I won my first Senate election by 13 points. I managed to hold on in '18 by six points. Sure, I ran a couple points ahead of Kamala last year, which is only the difference between being smoked and immolated. 4 points as the incumbent, to a used car salesman. I don't want to spend my last years losing elections, Chuck.
Schum: Our predictive internals put us as D +10 environment nationally and Brown +7 in 2026.
Sherrod: I'm in. LFG.

I doubt the people booing her off the stage will vote for someone less Trumplican than her.

That part of way Upstate New York is more West Virginia than West Virginia…..white people in Alabama look at that part of New York; and, say, “Damn, we wish we could be that racist in public.”

From everyone who has been given much, much will be demanded; and from the one who has been entrusted with much, much more will be asked.

I don't care much about voter registration. For one thing, it's unclear how many registration changes occurred just so people could vote against Trump in the primary. Second, as the article indicates, it's a lagging indicator.

I’m a registered Republican because I want to vote against any and all Trump supported candidates. I vote straight (blindfolded) D on Election Day.

I’m close to that….

In 2024, I was a registered ‘Pub so I could vote for really shitty Trumplicans in some races; hoping to put a complete Turd up against a decent Democrat.

I have barely paid any attention to the ads from the shit stains vying to fill McConnell's Senate seat here in KY but one caught my eye and that lead to me paying a little more attention.

Anyway, the one that caught my attention was an ad from a douche named Nate Morris and in it he repeatedly states that he's a Trump man and not a McConnell boy. In the ad he is attacking some other MAGA douche and Daniel Cameron. Cameron is the Former Attorney General of Kentucky and being backed by McConnell or groups affiliated with him.

In case anyone doesn't know who Daniel Cameron is

In another ad attacking Morris, they say he's woke, supports DEI, trans.... They wrap the ad up by saying Morris is full of woke and full of shit.

I would imagine the ads are only going to get worse from here on out.

Trump says Chicago is next for military occupation. Followed by NY or LA or maybe even SF. Don Jr says they should take the tour to Portland.

This is just in the last few hours. I hope people with an audience start sounding the alarm that elections as we’ve known them aren’t going to take place next year. Dems were caught unprepared as the trump administration blitzed them destroying years and decades of work in just a few months.

I haven’t seen anything yet that looks like dems are preparing for the fight that coming. It’s coming though.
