And yet, out of all the people here, there are maybe two or three here who utilize "ignore," which is their right. The majority of people do not, for one reason or another.

I twould take massive undoing of gerrymandering, adding several new states and having a DOJ that wasn't part of a coup to have accountability.

At this point the downward spiral of democracy just quickens its pace. It's going to get a lot worse.
 
The regulatory part of the annual strain update is part of my job working at a large pharma… all manufacturers are scrambling today. The US VRBPAC which was cancelled typically signs off on the WHO strain recommendations (expected tomorrow). So we will most likely proceed with those recommendations for submission. But the cancellation of the meeting creates a massive amount of confusion and inefficiency in a process which was normally very straightforward. Even last year, when the composition of vaccines changed from quadrivalent to trivalent, FDA advocated for the switch at the WHO meeting and then were the first regulatory body to implement it.

So yeah… pardon my rambling, but I’ve been doing this job for just about 2 years and have gained a massive amount of respect for FDA. It’s sad to see their efforts be hindered. And beyond that it doesn’t make any sense from a business (from the supposedly business-friendly party) or public health standpoint.
