Tournament seeding presents interesting scenarios. A 3-seed is a big advantage over a 4-seed, but in some ways a 6-seed is better than a 5- or even 4-seed. The 4 and 5 are on the same side of the bracket as the 1-seed, whereas the 6 and 3 avoid the 1 until the championship game, with the possibility that the 1 can be upset along the way. The 5 and 6 get an extra opportunity for a decent win to help their resumé (but an extra chance to be upset). (The period goes outside of the parentheses, but inside quotation marks???)

ETA: ncsux losing is always a good thing.

Win tonight and we jump the cow.
But they beat us so they won't care. If we win tonight we jump them in the ACC rankings and we may well finish higher in the ACC while they are likely playing themselves out of the NCAA tournament, but as long as they beat us they'll still be smiling even as we finish ahead of them overall and go to the Big Dance while they're left out. UNC lives in their heads 24/7, even when they beat us.

If they can beat Stanford, I think they're in. They might be a 9-11 seed, but they'll be in.

But other than that, yeah, you're right.
