Had the tiebreaker put Miami in the ACCCG and they won, ND would be in the field. That was my theory going into last night. Miami needed Duke to win so it could get the “take pity on the ACC” slot.

Agree and it's okThat was my theory going into last night. Miami needed Duke to win so it could get the “take pity on the ACC” slot.
Ironic.Had the tiebreaker put Miami in the ACCCG and they won, ND would be in the field.
Won or lost probablyHad the tiebreaker put Miami in the ACCCG and they won, ND would be in the field.
You are correctUp on the road at the end of the stadium right?
all the P4 conferences have the same tie breakersIronic.
Maybe this will cause the ACC to have a better tie breaker system next year.
Are you thinking that ND would replace Bama because Miami won the ACCCG? Not so sure about that.Had the tiebreaker put Miami in the ACCCG and they won, ND would be in the field.
It is not a problem for the other conferences. It is for the ACC.all the P4 conferences have the same tie breakers
Maybe we’ll expand to a proper 16
I think he's saying that Miami would have replaced JMU as a conference champ, leaving space for both Bama and ND.Are you thinking that ND would replace Bama because Miami won the ACCCG? Not so sure about that.
They just argued that conferences should put the top two ranked teams in the championship. It is not a problem for the other conferences. It is for the ACC.
That can't happen because the ACC & Big12 won't agree to it. It also can't happen because the G5 would file suit for lack of reasonable access to the CFP.I hate the autobids. Always have. Just put the best teams in the playoffs.

This is why the SEC & B1G will eventually raid the ACC & (maybe) the Big12 again and then break away to form a new tier of teams in a "national conference" that doesn't have to worry about the remainder ACC/Big12 plus G5 schools.
As long as humans are removed from that ranking influence....This is going to sound like sour grapes coming from a UNC fan but with the size of these conferences and the unbalanced schedules that you get as a result, the CFP rankings really should be the next tiebreaker after conference record and any head to head considerations.
That being said, no reason for Duke fans to not celebrate the title or anything. They didn’t create the system.

Who gives a rat’s ass what the ACC and Big12 think? Their opinion doesn’t count. That can't happen because the ACC & Big12 won't agree to it. It also can't happen because the G5 would file suit for lack of reasonable access to the CFP.

The problem with breaking out football is that the inequalities in the system will mean that the non-P2 teams will be dominated in every other sport, as well, unless spending caps are put in place.Yep. This year just accelerated that.
And if they break football out separately it will make it even faster
