1. Leverage at trial does not work the way you think it does. Since Epstein was dead, there was nobody for her to roll over for. The prosecutors weren't going to offer her leniency to spill the beans on Trump. Again, maybe Trump does that but DOJ attorneys do not, especially not under Garland. If I understand the R and D perspectives on this situation correctly, the following things are true:
- Trump was involved in the abuse of minors along with Epstein
- Ghislaine knew this, and likely more, but decided not to leverage it to help with her sentencing
- Now that she's being asked about it, she's going to lie to possibly get her sentence reduced
- The evidence of Trump's involvement is in the "files" but the Biden admin kept it quiet
All of the votes Democrats can muster can't get the files released.Nothing says Trump wasn't involved with Epstein's sex trafficking like shutting down the government until September to avoid Congress looking into the matter.
Great questionAnyone else get the feeling that Mike Johnson knows that it’s about to go off the rails?
Idk. You’re talking about a guy who has a direct line to God.No. Mike Johnson doesn’t have independent thoughts.
Mike Johnson's been on a crazy train since the day he was elected speaker.Anyone else get the feeling that Mike Johnson knows that it’s about to go off the rails?
Likely.Maybe I missed something above. But why is DOJ meeting with Ghislaine Maxwell? Maybe a deal in the making?
i wonder how much stuff there is to drip out. He's using up all of his moves.Likely.
She’s looking for a pardon. And a DOJ “interview” gives her cover to lie in attempt to exonerate Trump in exchange for leniency.
