I mean, I said you're claiming somewhere between none and basically none. Nothing I see changes that.....

...but, again, that really isn't the point. The dismissing and minimizing is apart of the bigger issue of general vitriol toward cis women in this situation, but not the key point.
If you care so much about CIS women maybe you should focus on real issues, like the fact that a rapist was elected.

Every CIS woman that voted trump lost their outrage card.

You vote for a rapist, don't claim outrage over .01% of the population possibly using the restroom with you.

I do think his base, unfortunately, cares about it a great deal - as in they hate and fear it - and I don't think he can or will walk away from it. I certainly expect that many other Republicans won't, as they've made great political hay by passing anti-trans legislation in their states. So in that sense whether or not he "cares about it" is irrelevant. I certainly don't think he'll try to stop red states from enacting ever more restrictive laws against transgenders, including adults.

Just another Trump threat that we don't really need to worry about or take seriously according to board Trumpers, because Trump won't actually carry through with these threats. Trust them, nothing "all that bad" will happen to trans people during Trump 2.0. I just love their assurance posts on here telling everyone to stay calm because Trumpers won't really do what they're claiming they will do. It's so comforting.

I'm putting this here because I don't think it needs its own thread.

Now for the caveats and disclaimers.....

1) Yes, I know it's Fox News, but Fox News' website isn't the cesspool of far-right conspiracy theory nonsense that Fox News channel has become.

2) No, this doesn't mean I'm anti-trans. It means I'm pro sane policy.

3) Yes, California can run their state however they want, but this kind of thing, for multiple reasons, reflects poorly on the Democratic party in general. By "this kind of thing" I mean I unreasonable trans policies in the justice system.

4) The position that it is never justified to differentiate between a biological woman and trans woman is a misguided position.

5) Things like this likely increase anti-trans sentiment.

Blue state violent crime victims ordered to address 'trans' career criminal by preferred pronouns

Tremaine 'Treymane' Deon Carroll transferred out of a California women's prison after being indicted on 2 rape counts

Victims of a transgender-identified, male-born California convict accused of raping fellow inmates at a California women's prison will be forced to police their pronoun usage while recounting the alleged attacks on the stand, per a recent court order.

Tremaine "Tremayne" Deon Carroll, 52, identifies as a woman, and must be referred to using she/her pronouns in court after a Madera County Court judge's ruling, ABC30 reported.

Carroll faces two charges of forcible rape and one of "dissuading a witness from testifying."

"After his first cellmate became pregnant and was moved to [a male-only facility in] Los Angeles, two other cellmates of his had complained that he had raped them, so we have filed rape charges against this inmate," Madera County District Attorney Sally Moreno told ABC30.

Moreno believes that Carroll abused California law SB 132, the Transgender Respect, Agency and Dignity Act, which allows transgender prisoners to be housed in a facility consistent with their gender identity systematically rather than on a case-by-case basis.

"This is a person who is not a woman in any sense of the word," Moreno told ABC30.

Just because nobody has ever mistaken you for a man doesn't mean we shouldn't use a person's preferred pronouns.

Why would anybody possibly give a shit? If you know someone who does, recommend that they get a hobby or therapy or something.
I would say that there are a couple of humans with female genitalia, that were locked in a cage with a human with male genitalia, who give a shit.

Regardless of genitalia people are fucking idiots and get locked up with other idiots all the time. Can't penetrate what if anything logically anyone with an IQ above 80 would worry about?

Don't worry, they totally won't agree with broad attacks on LGBTQ rights. They'll totally vote for them, but they will reassure us that they are one of the good ones who totally wishes their party was different.

“… Believing voters in the 2024 elections rejected Democrats’ more inclusive positions on transgender rights, Republicans appear ready in 2025 to double down in support of executive orders and provisions in spending bills that would make it harder for transgender individuals to get health care, serve in the military or participate in school activities. President-elect Donald Trump signaled on the campaign trail that he would pursue new restrictions in the military and in schools, and pledged in December to make U.S. policy reflect that there are only “two genders.”

… Rep. Nancy Mace, the South Carolina Republican who led the push to bar McBride from using women’s restrooms in the Capitol, is showing no sign of letting up. Asked how she would press transgender issues legislatively in the next Congress, she said: “You should look at the bills that I have been filing. That’ll be educational for you.” Mace has offered bills that would restrict bathroom usage for transgender people in places receiving federal funds and impose penalties on doctors performing gender-affirming care.

… Looking ahead, many health experts — particularly those who are concerned about the mental health implications of withholding gender-affirming care — are fearful of Republican-led efforts to deny funding to hospitals that receive Medicaid and Medicare if physicians assist trans youth with transitions.

A case is now pending before the right-leaning Supreme Court that could allow states to criminalize gender-affirming care for minors. …”

The problem is most people have no idea what "gender-affirming care" is or is not.
Not knowing is a feature of right wing thought these days. The less knowledgeable someone is about a particular topic, the more likley they are to be placed in charge of that particular issue by MAGA.

Texas sues to impose bigotry on the rest of the country

Ken Paxton's lawsuit against the NCAA is a glorified Fox News segment.

“…Paxton is following his lead by suing the NCAA in Texas state court under the state’s Deceptive Trade Practices Act. His allegation is that the NCAA is somehow swindling Texas sports fans by allowing trans athletes to compete in women’s sporting events.

Texas’s Deceptive Trade Practices Act prohibits false, misleading, or deceptive acts in commerce. According to Paxton, the NCAA is misleading sports fans by advertising women’s sporting events when there are actually “biological males” competing. Or, as the lawsuit explains, the NCAA is “lead[ing] consumers to believe that they are purchasing goods and services associated with biological sex-based sporting events.”

…The complaint rolls out four more counts, each fixating on a different bit of language from the Deceptive Trade Practices Act. At root, they’re all the same accusation: the NCAA is deceiving consumers by referring to women’s sports because it allows trans athletes to compete in some events. Of course, for people not consumed with a fixation on genitals, the term “women’s sports” includes trans women, because they are women. It only makes sense if you first grant Texas’s transphobic premise that there is no such thing as a trans woman playing a sport — only a “biological male” who has invaded a women’s team.

Ostensibly, this lawsuit is just about stopping trans athletes from competing in women’s sports in Texas (or outside Texas if a Texas team is involved). But what it really represents is a chance for the state to spread its transphobia across the country. …”
