I am going to do my part to try to hold Trump accountable for his many promises.

1. Across the board tariffs.
2. Repeal ACA
3. Round up and deport all illegals.

I am sure there are many more. Won't hold Trump accountable for #3 because while it will harm us all, the majority of the harm is to people who are innocent.

We fucked around long enough. Time to find out. Trump promised these things so it is time conservatives (many of whom believe Trump never lies) hold him accountable.

Ready for my ex-con cousin to lose his healthcare and disability. FAFO

Ready for all of the poor people in my rural hometown to lose their school and insurance. FAFO

Ready for inflation (due to 1 and 3) to destroy the same people. FAFO

I am going to keep this thread alive until Trump makes good on his promises.

He seems like he will uphold his promise to round up "ilegals" and send them somewhere 10-15 million people.....

Lots of middle class and working class folks, folks who are teachers or married to teachers, folks with daughters, folks who live on (or related to people who live on) social security/disability, folks who whine and cry about the price of food and gas and everything else every time they go to the cash register, are going to find out the hard way. Oh well. Elections have consequences.

I’m cheering for Trump. I hope he’s a great president. Nothing would thrill me more. I don’t only love my country or want the best for/from its President when my preferred presidential candidate wins.

Trump was not held accountable for failing to deliver on his promises during his 1st term. He knows he will not be held accountable for failing to deliver on his promises in his 2nd term.

repeal and replace the ACA ?
eliminate taxes on Social Security ?
eliminate taxes on tips ?
eliminate taxes on overtime ?
deport 15 million brown immigrants ?
execute his political opponents ?
reduce prices on goods to where they were in 2020 ?
reduce the deficit and national debt ?

I don't think so... nor do I think think conservatives/MAGAs will care.

Can't say that I'm cheering for Trump. I didn't like him when he was just a rich ne'er do well. I am cheering for the country to come out well.

I’ve given up. I just hope I’m not harmed as much as the other 50% or so. In reality I have now way to really ensure I come out unscathed, nor does anyone really.

Don’t even know if I’ll be chased down by some neo brown shirts due to my posting history and criticisms. It is what it is

That said, I won't hold Trump accountable for 3. Those people are pure innocents.
How do you plan to hold him accountable? Do you think it will be effective?

I'd love to know the family history of the 42% of Latinos who voted for Trump. How many of them received Amnesty from Reagan? How many of their parents or grandparents received amnesty? How many were "anchor babies" from undocumented immigrants? How many of them are from Cuba and were allowed to stay because of the wet feet / dry feet policy? I'm sure most now say they immigrated the right way by evading authorities until they reached land.

They are citizens and can vote however they choose but I think there is a whole lot of misrepresentation going on when they speak of how their families came to the US.

I would expect for republicans to hold him accountable the way democrats hold their elected officials accountable. Within one month of Bidens diminished state becoming apparent, he was dismissed as the nominee. And then when Kamala was not the best fit, 1/4 of Biden supporters decided to sit out the election. So hopefully republicans hold trump accountable to his promises, and I’m sure they will as they consider themselves the party of patriotism.

Would leads you to expect that "republicans" will hold Trump accountable ?

No snark...just curious

I hope the GOP holds the House, as I think they will. We need to keep our Senate seats because they don't turn over, but the House is temporary. Let them put Trump's policies into place. It will likely lead to an electoral bloodbath in 26 unlike anything we've seen in a long while.

If the tariffs do what I fear they will, we could be looking at a complete collapse of the GOP. I don't know if there are enough Senate seats up for vote for Dems to get to 67, which is what we need, but if those working classes are really interested in the economy as they say they are, we should win plenty of Senate seats we never thought we could win.

Expect Tillis to announce he won't run for re-election around this time next year.

What we really need is for the public to be forced to reckon with the fact that Fox News and other right wing media has been lying to them. An election bloodbath won't help if Fox is still able to push a narrative that is unchallenged by half the country.

That half of the country believes MSM is "fake news"

Republicans do have to defend more Senate seats in 2026 but outside North Carolina I'm not sure how many will be considered toss up
Maine should be a toss-up. I could see a Collins retiring.

We need to run some populist independent candidates in vulnerable red states like Kansas and Missouri.
