Yeah, that's pretty good.

The FTs are a little concerning, though. Time to shoot 1,000 FTs a day!
He shot 123 3s last year at a .350 clip, which is just fine. And he shot 46 FTs, at that 58% clip.

Normally we look to FTs to project shooting in general, in part because players usually have more FTs. But here, where the sample size for the 3s is almost 4 times as large as the sample size for FTs, I'm not too worried about the FTs.

He also made 15 of his last 20 FTs. He was especially struggling in November/December.

Cadeau was given the keys to a premier program from day 1. He was given a ton of latitude and got to play through a lot of mistakes. He was given ample opportunity to shine.

Taking shots at the coach on the way out is also a pretty bad look. Everyone knows what kind of person HD is. Whatever issues EC has were better left unsaid.

So he knowingly broke the rules in effect so badly at the time that he was hit with a show cause and suspended for much of the season by a morally questionable school like LSU in the $EC, but now that the rules have changed its ok because...well the rules have changed and so he gets a mulligan and he probably won't break rules again when it suits him.

OK I guess that's the times.

UNC's staff is in massive trouble, they already had a poor reputation with 1 and dones and then Cadeau/IJ/Powell all ended up not being what was expected. I think we are about to see public perception come home to roost. Likely will be discussing our new coach this time next year.
I feel like I heard the same chatter about Roy throughout his time at UNC.

One and dones are just one way to build a team and not one that many programs can employ.

The quote in the 247 article...

"The (Michigan) coaching staff really believe in me and know what I can do," Cadeau told 247Sports. "I want to play in an offense that best suits me and my abilities, with the correct players around me so we can all win."

:(
I was just about to post that. Not that it needs any interpretation, but he is basically saying he wants to play for a real coach that can put a roster and offensive game plan together.

So much for the "really nice guy" equating to actual coaching skills. Elliot should never complain about playing time or opportunity. But he is correct, Hubert's generic NBA style offense with no true big, and multiple players not in their true positions, made every player, and the team, worse.

Good luck Elliot. I think he shows out in a real system with a real coach.

What do you believe incoming recruits think? That's what matters.

I think at this point it doesn't matter, but have another kid say something similar when they leave, and we might be taking the Adam Boone's of the world.

But he's also saying, "it wasn't my fault" and that's really not something one wants from a player. Maybe this attitude is a reason why the coaches were indifferent to EC staying.

If I were May, I'd reconsider how much $$ I was spending on a guy who might or might not take it upon himself to improve and who apparently doesn't much respect the coach.

I don’t think it matters that much.
Money talks.

I'm not getting into the veracity (so to speak) of EC's statement, it's obviously a perspective-based thing.

But unless Carolina Basketball is going to have a BB NIL budget at least 10% larger than everyone else's, the perception of the coaching staff matters. You would hope to get a small discount based on the program's perception, not have folks think the coaches aren't good for their players' development and have to pay a premium to get guys into the program.
