Shitting on Tar Heels is now the culture?

Pass.
He just shit on the coach and his former teammates. So he is still a Tar Heel?

RJ could've said "coach didn't give me CORRECT teammates" and maybe he'd have a decent point since RJ was an ACC POY and the team didn't achieve much. But him saying that would still be trashing his cohorts and deflecting all responsibility for the w/l outcome.

"The (Michigan) coaching staff really believe in me and know what I can do," Cadeau told 247Sports. "I want to play in an offense that best suits me and my abilities, with the correct players around me so we can all win."

vs.

"Cadeau is a spoiled little brat with dookie tendencies who didn’t mature a speck in two years. If he were a dook player he’d be one of the most disliked of recent memory.

Good riddance. Glad I’m not forced to pull for him any longer."

Which of those would you say is more acrimonious? Which would you say is the product of a spoiled individual versus one dealing maturely with a rough situation?

Cadeau said nothing about his teammates, other than they weren't the best fit for the offense in which suits his abilities best.

Does anyone have a full count of the number of transfers out under HD? How does that stack up compared to other schools?

I can't imagine overreacting to a more generic statement. One way or the other
Yep. I expected something juicy in his comments and it's just him being happy about the opportunities he'll have at Michigan. I think some people are just so opposed to HD as the head coach, they just grasp on to any chance they get to justify their feelings.

It’s comparable to others in the portal era. Nothing out of the ordinary.

If you don’t see the passive aggressiveness of those comments toward HD you’re bending over backwards to give EC the benefit of the doubt here.

Can we get a side-by-side perhaps with Kansas, UCLA, dook, Kentucky- the other teams with which we're traditionally associated?

Since you've done the work, can you show it to us?
I’ll get right on it.

Here’s a few:
UNC-14
Arizona-13
UCLA-12
Ncsu-18
Tenn-16 (none this year yet)
Kentucky-16
dook-7 (none this year) Also a lot of OAD’s.

It’s just the way it is now.

Could be. I'll admit I'm a fan of the players above everything else and always give them the benefit of the doubt in these things. To me, what he said seemed along the lines of what I've read many, many transfers say. Just my take.

Yea, this is not a good take.

I've been supportive of EC from day 1, and I love his game. I really thought he was going to break out next year, with RJ out of the backcourt and a bunch of players around him who could really benefit from his gifts. He's been one of my favorite heels to watch, and I was super disappointed when he decided to leave. I sort of leaned towards blaming Coach Davis and the staff for not doing whatever it took to keep him.

But after reading those quotes from him? Yea, pass. If you call that "shitting on a Tar Heel" then, like I said, I don't think that's a very good or fair take, given his comments on his way out the door.

Eh, not me. It hit me differently. Last time I can remember transfers out saying that sort of thing was LD2 or the Wears, or I guess Kessler. I'm sure I'm missing some, but "surround me with the correct players" to maximize *my* abilities just rankles for me. It's absolutely a shot at his teammates, even if he wasn't aiming at them. And now I can begin to see why Coach Davis and Marcus Paige were perhaps willing to point him to the door, if that's where he wanted to go.

If EC could shoot, he wouldn't need to be surrounded by the "correct players."

The reason EC can't shoot is that EC apparently has not worked at it enough. Or maybe he lacks shooting talent. Either way, the only person to blame for EC not being a shooter is EC.

If EC thinks it's better to complain about teammates than work on his shot, I wish him well at Ann Arbor.

I’m looking at Michigan’s returning players.

Granted, I know little about the Wolverines.

Based on the “article” (looked like 247/blog BS), Michigan is returning a short PG (6’2”, not 5’11”). They are losing their two best post players. They are not
returning a plethora of “3-point” sharpshooters.

I could be 100% wrong. WMHEEL likely knows 1,000 percent more about Michigan hoops than I do.

I see at Michigan in 2025-26 a similar team to UNC in 2024-25.

Elliot Cadeau needs a big/biggish 2G who can shoot AND defend the PG and/or 2G.

Cadeau needs wings who can shoot and slash. He needs a 4 or 5 who can post up and demand coverage AND score.

This isn’t a criticism of Cadeau. Most PG’s need this.

I don’t see 2025-26 Michigan meeting his needs.
