Guess others have just been better at restocking players.
Not necessarily, the Tyson and “no-bigs” from this past season notwithstanding. But certainly not if you look at the Ingram/Ryan haul just the year before last. And the Nance/Garcia haul the year before that certainly wasn’t a bad look on the surface, it just didn’t play out well. Garcia was a catch and he played well for Minnesota - who could have anticipated the family issues?
Finally, Brady Fucking Manek says “hi”

Powell will probably go, too. Who does that leave then? The other Powell at SG, Trimble at SG, Lubin as a forward, Wilson as a forward, and Veesaar at center.

Are the other incoming freshmen going to make an impact?

There's probably a way to spin this as a good thing, or at least not a bad thing, but I'm frankly stumped as to what that might be.
It’s not good it’s not really bad from a “look” perspective. It will hurt on the court if the next guy in that role is worse than Ian was.

Every player is year to year now. At the end of the season nobody if “yours” anymore. They are all free agents.

This is college basketball.

Anything is possible but all sources generally say that it would not be a good thing if UNC had to depend on the freshman guards to make a big immediate impact.

I don't know why the NCAA thought it was a good idea to let the players transfer every year. I understand them getting paid. They need to become employees of the university and have contracts and buyouts just like the pros.

I forgot about Tyson. I guess they are stuck with him. I doubt any other school will pay him more than UNC.

He quite over a month ago. Too bad, he could have been very good. Probably headed closer to home, although Pitino will require him to play D. Wish him well and wish it would have worked.

With Ian and Drake I think it’s a better “look” if they declared for the draft.
Portalling out can never be viewed that favorably if you ask me. EC and Ian portalling out (and perhaps Drake) is not a good “look” for HD or the program. JWash I can see because he lost his starting job, and perhaps he took it personally (who wouldn’t) and his leaving may not be such a bad look. Everybody on the outside can and could see that one coming. EC didn’t lose anything - he was given EVERY opportunity. But of course, it’s been mentioned he didn’t leave so much as he was pushed out. Perhaps maybe Ian also sees it the same way as JWash. Ian had played his way into a starting spot, only to lose it… so he’s like “adios”.
