No, but a good enough coach should be able to handle both.
I think they'd probably frame it differently, though. I think they'd want to be competitive at the highest level, and to set team goals every year that include winning a national championship. But I think failure to reach at least some of those goals - which happens most years - takes a back seat to how the players prepare for them, both on the court and off.
I'm pretty sure both Dean and Roy would say that it was relationships and not trophies that were the most significant parts of their jobs. We fans don't get the relationship parts, except vicariously.
