Most people are assuming it's the Roy faction (or maybe more accurately the "old school UNC family" faction) vs. those who want to move on, but that isn't clear. Could also be a Newmark/Cunningham thing; could be a boosters vs admin thing; could be a Roberts vs. athletic department thing; could be all of the above to some extent.

I feel that way about Evans too - I think he would fit well playing next to Dixon and Mingo - but he would have to take a huge pay cut to stay, so I'm just not sure I see it.

Yeah true, we don't know those details.

If anything could lead to him staying, a coaching change may be it. I would guess the chances of him returning if Hubert is still the coach would be very low.

Yeah, I’ve kind of figured it’s way less likely to be Roy and way more likely to be the fact that we have a hedge fund manager turned chancellor who doesn’t know what the fuck he’s doing, a neutered AD-in-name-only, an incoming AD who is a NACSCAR executive with no experience running one of the preeminent collegiate athletics departments in the country, a BOT full of hacks, and a bunch of big donors not used to not getting their way.
