I personally don't believe there is a snow balls chance in hell that Brad Stevens ever coaches college basketball again, for any team. Or just doesn't make any sense. He's had opportunities to return to coaching. He's in a high paid executive. He only coached college for 4 years and left for the NBA a son as there was a good opportunity.

Why would be want to coach college ball now, at agree 49?

Also, I have no sources...

"Very real rumor" isn't quite an oxymoron but it bears a family resemblance, lol.

I have extreme doubts. I do not think Brad Stevens would leave his current position -- he's got it made, really -- to come back and coach 19 year olds. And recruit them. It's not happening.

Doubts that UNC has/is planning to reach out to him, or that he's going to coach at UNC? Put me in the camp of those that give the chance of him coaching at UNC slightly higher than zero.

There is mutual interest. I just hope they can get it done. If not we move on to TJ, Golden and Dusty Maye.

Well he was interested 5 years ago as well.

I tried about 5 different ways to phrase that and all of them sounded ridiculous. 🤷‍♂️ 🤣

I am not saying we're getting Brad Stevens. In fact, I would be completely and utterly shocked if we got Brad Stevens.

But there is a rumor going around that we've contacted him and that we didn't get an immediate no.

Given that Roy strongly pushed for Hubert to be the head coach, I doubt that he'll be too happy with his removal. Given his love for UNC I don't see him completely withdrawing from the program, but I doubt we'll see him attending as many home or away games and the like, at least for awhile.
 
IIRC after the last searc, one RC insider said Stevens potentially had some interest.

Someone later said it was along the lines of "Willing to talk but only after MBA season over. Are his kids out of HS> His wife at least used to be his agent.
