Violations of board rules like bigotry don't require warnings and can be enforced in a zero-tolerance manner. Also, now that you've revealed your second username, I'll add that we knew you were a returned previously banned poster when the BRP ban was put in place. Returned banned posters don't necessarily get the same process as posters who don't have previous bans.
Biological traits, which same sex attraction is, aren't abnormal. Is it abnormal to have blue eyes? Only about 10% of the world's population does. You also gloss over the negative connotation that abnormal implies. So by referring to it as abnormal you are describing it as undesirable.

Eyes are meant to allow a mammal to see. A specific color may be uncommon, but not inherently abnormal. Having eyes that don't allow you to see, since their entire purpose is vision, is abnormal. Sexual attraction is designed to keep species in existence. That is the purpose. Therefore, having an attraction that doesn't facilitate the continuation of a species is abnormal.

Given the way the software works, I couldn't see IP matches and other items that let us identify when folks came back with an alias. We had to run it up the flagpole to the admin side and they'd get back to us if they found any matches on a poster. I'm sure at the time we were told what your previous alias was, but I don't remember it years later.
Can you not at least see how calling someone who is gay abnormal is offensive? The definition of abnormal is deviating from what is usual in an undesirable way. So for LGBTQ people on these boards when they see someone call them abnormal they take it as they are undesirable.
You are conflating two things. There are plenty of things that are true that may not be appropriate to state in a given situation, in front of a specific audience. Those things don't become untrue because it would be uncouth to state them in a given situation. A forum dedicated to political discussion, to me, seems like a situation where it would be appropriate to express most any true statement but, as I said previously, ZZLP had guardrails where facts are filtered through feelings.
