Given the way the software works, I couldn't see IP matches and other items that let us identify when folks came back with an alias. We had to run it up the flagpole to the admin side and they'd get back to us if they found any matches on a poster. I'm sure at the time we were told what your previous alias was, but I don't remember it years later.

I wasn't on the board much when you got banned and almost certainly didn't have much/anything to do with your ban. I certainly wasn't the driver of your ban, although I remember you as a poster. But you can hold a personal grudge, if you'd like, I won't lose any sleep over it and I can certainly tell you're handling it in a mentally-healthy way.

Look dude I was banned right after the post so it didn't go to some committee, and your name is sitting right there on one of the posts deleting my post. So you were on duty. I can't say with certainty whether you made the initial call or what but you were in on it in some capacity. At least you admit I was never contacted by anyone and not put in the ban thread. The reality is all the policies and procedures you refer to on this thread are a load of crap. I'm not holding a grudge, It's not like a had some legacy as a poster on there and you can get right back on. But if a thread about ZZLP moderating comes up yes I'm going to say my piece and tell what happened in my instance.

I missed this...what happened?
i don't think the perpetrator has been identified but someone on IC premium screenshotted Bwall posts with intel about recruiting and posted them on a free bleacher report message board. see the "Top 10 Talent Caleb Wilson Returning to Chapel Hill" thread.....starts on page 18.

sounds like Bwall is done as an insider now. former JV player and practice player for the women's team who now works for klutch. massive blow to inside info sharing on IC. too many morons over there, its unfortunate someone had to ruin it for the rest of us.

No, thank you for supporting my assertion. Biologically speaking, homosexuality IS abnormal. Mammals are designed to keep their species going. Saying that isn't bigotry.

Regarding Cincy....he did nothing wrong that I saw, beyond frustrate other posters who seemed to wield significant influence on moderation decisions.
any good biologist will tell you that nearly everything in biology exists on a spectrum. sexuality is definitely one of those things.

calling certain parts of perfectly natural spectrums "abnormal" is just dumb and bigoted.

Nah, I think saying homosexuals are abnormal in any situation is perceived wrong by anyone who doesn't want to come off as a bigot.
Perceiving something as wrong doesn't mean that it is wrong. Again, the normal state for mammals is that one gender is attracted to the other. The normal state for eyes is that they allow a mammal to experience the world visually. If a mammal is attracted to the same gender, or they have eyes that don't allow them to visually experience the world, both of those are abnormal. Feelings don't change that. Perception doesn't change that. The fact that it may not be appropriate to express that in any/all situations doesn't change that.

I left the Republican party and registered independent years ago, which means I can't vote in the primaries. I didn't join the Democratic party because of, among other things, stuff like this where you are labeled a bigot for saying "It's not normal if your eyes don't allow you to see" or "Trans females aren't biological females".

Either realities/facts matter or they don't. It can't be "Well, what you're saying is true, but you can't ever say it because it just sounds mean".

Question: was Iambuckwheat, Stagecoachdriver, and Itsbotime the same person?

Those weren't really ZZLP mod bans. Once you attract enough attention, some things are determined above our paygrade.
A bit surprising that both were given so much leeway by the mods that it escalated up to the powers-that-be. Were they given more chances than others because of their level/longevity of participation?

Or you could just not say it's abnormal because it's a decent thing to do if you actually care about those that are not straight. Also, homosexuality is a part of biology. Maybe it's in the minority, but that doesn't mean it's abnormal.

You are thrashing the strawman of me that you've built up in your mind. I mean, really giving him a good beating.

I went back to look at the last ban thread to see how many permanbans we gave out to folks who were consistent, long-term ZZLP posters. That thread covers about 4.5 years. There were 4...

UNCBA2007
Ovshinsky
Lynch34
gtyellowjckt

That's 3 conservatives and 1 liberal. And 2007's ban was for LGBTQ bigotry while the other 3 were for trolling.

Again, 4 bans in a little over 4 years. So much angst over so little real issue.
Wasn’t UNCBA2007 briefly made a mod (to have a “conservative” mod)……..and, he almost immediately posted transphobic/homophobic comment(s)?

So, saying what is true means you don't care about an entire category of people? Nice.

Mostly as a bat signal to bum...

Group selection for homosexuality as a counter to sexual selection decreasing overall group fecundity seem very likely. Under this model absence of homosexual individuals in a population would be abnormal.
You know, you are all seriously confused. Reproduction is about biology and all that stuff. Sex is about emotion and it's no damned body's else business.*

*Typical age and consent disclaimer.

The funny thing is that Democrats just don't seem to be able to figure out why a piece of human excrement like Trump can't give their candidates a run for their money.
If it is offense to those people, then yes, you can avoid saying it. Saying it is abnormal is derogatory. And as others have pointed out, it's not the right term to use even when discussing biology anyway.
