Your opinions seem to be born out of emotion, ignorance, and fear

Emotion - visited war torn sites and graves - lost bloodlust, think we are carpetbombing 10 million people, no justification despite having no knowledge, no answers but what we are doing is wrong
Ignorance - Nobody is carpet bombing (but iran - indiscriminate bombing of civilian sites), no knowledge or info on school bombing, no knowledge of the aftermath of sinking the WAR ship, no knowledge of iran's nuke capability at time of attack, no justification for bombing
Fear - prospect of putting American boots on the ground.

Not a single shred of any signs of knowledge or logic because your social media masters have you programmed to think like they want you to. Congratulations Dolly.
Oh, good, now we get the most emotional, fearful poster lecturing others. The idea that Iran would use a nuclear bomb indiscriminately is about the most paranoid thing posted here in a long time (not just by calla, but zen also).

Guess what? Empathy -- that was the emotion CFord was feeling -- is the cornerstone of civilization. Seriously. It is the basis for all secular or even quasi-secular morality. The golden rule -- do unto others as you would have them do to you -- is empathy.

To dismiss views rooted in empathy is the most ignorant stance you can take. you are literally trying to dismiss the foundations of our society.

Thanks for the response. The main Iraq comparison that I see here is on the "facts" about Iran's uranium enrichment and its development of delivery systems. This smells like another big batch of yellowcake to me. Among other things --

  • The IAEA director said in a press conference on March 2 that the Iranians were not close to having a bomb.
  • There's no evidence Iran has resumed enrichment of uranium since last June's strikes. In fact, the two sites that had the capacity to do that were heavily damaged and, according to satellite imaging, have not resumed operations.
  • If there are activities so deeply buried at Esfahan or some other location that they're operational now, our bombs have no ability to impact them. The only way to get rid of those capabilities is to put boots on the ground.
  • There's no evidence Iran is anywhere close to developing a ballistic missile that could fly more than about 2,000 km, which means the continental US and most of Europe are not at risk of a missile fired from Iran.

The evidence we have seen so far is overwhelming that this war has little, if anything, to do with Iran's nuclear or ballistic missile programs. It DOES appear to be motivated by Israel's long-term plan for regime change and the US's decision to fight that battle with Israel. I agree we can disagree as to whether that justifies what we're doing, but I do think we need to be clear-eyed about why we're doing it. Failing to do that led to an absolute shitshow in Iraq, and this one has the potential to be much worse than that.
All good thoughts and appreciate your opinion.

- The IAEA director has been blocked from full access to every site. Why block the inspector if not hiding uranium and centrifuges? I take israel at their word that they have enriched uranium beyond what is needed for the production of energy.
- I'd be a no go on ground troops. To me that is israel's burden to bear.
- I'm not worried about a missle hitting the US, rather some other form of delivery. I'm more worried about the development of a more sophisticated missle system that could be harder to shoot down. 2000 km easily reaches israel.

I can't imagine given how quickly we said we would be out of there that regime change, without destroying their ground troops, would be remotely possible. Maybe our role was to decimate their ability to wage war so that israel could deal with the regime change. But without the US involvement, the ME coalition possibly ends because over the long term, israel is still israel and 2000 years of history isn't just forgotten. One of my gripes with the trump administration is that you either have to get info from him which is about equal to what I would get from a 10th grader, or from hegseth who comes off as a complete doosh due to his over the top bravado. Agree we have to have clear messaging but don't think that is going to come in an adult manner. I agree there is a risk of it becoming a shitshow if we are there beyond mid april.

Correct. i was talking about non politician celebrities such as oprah, clooney, rihanna, etc. Those the dems plan campaigns around. But I get the point your side made and my comment wasn't well thought out or communicated.

You see no harm in iran having a nuke? You see no impact to American lives if they used that nuke?
Do they have a nuke? Well no, actually. Obliterated, remember?

So what's the justification this time?

Right from the source ...

Calla claims to not support Trump. He bo-sides!
Where have I ever claimed to not support trump? Your claim is incorrect. I have said I don't like trump. I have criticized trump where I felt it justified. I have supported trump's actions where I felt it justified. I can both support and not support things he does. That isn't bo-sides. That is being objective and not blinded by emotion or hatred.

I have responded to you hundreds of times. I have also never once posted a tweet, a truth, or a quote. I dont use any of the social media services and I don't listen to or exist in the media ecosystems you refer to. However, it must be dozens of times at this point thay you've characterized me and my opinions as being "as angry as the influencers want you to be" or something of the kind. It is your default.
When you compare someone to goebbels, and mean it, that's over the top emotion.

I never claimed not to be emotional. My emotionality is my greatest asset in life. I have said many, many times thay my thoughts and emotions are my own and not formed by some online or television influencer.

And Miller is every bit Goebbels. He would gas people in an instant if he could get away with it.

That you cannot judge his character is your flaw, not mine.
