I've noticed that, too. Trump rode to power -- twice -- on the backs of some of the angriest, least balanced Americans. When that anger turns against you, Katie bar the door.

I keep praying every night to the god of my understanding that anger will be turned to justice, and that pride will be turned to mercy. That may never happen, but this is one of those moments where it could. There's no rational or moral justification for what we're doing right now. And even a bunch of right wingers are clear eyed enough to see that.

Putin is so much better at this than Trump. Putin convinced Israel to remain neutral on his Ukraine invasion and then backs Iran against the US and Israel. Maybe Bibi is as stupid as Trump. He certainly is competitive in the corruption game.

Ron and Rand Paul are consistently against foreign military action both because they don't think it's a particularly good use of American resources and because they feel like the executive has usurped congress's authority. Rand Paul is fairly consistent on it even going up against his party on votes against military action.

I’ve lived in So Cal for 31 years. In that time, I’ve met 100s of people of Iranian descent, including two of my daughter’s best friends and numerous clients and social friends. I’m pretty sure 20 homes over 31 years is a significant undercount.

For reasons I've stated, I think Bibi is far smarter and more strategic than Trump. Bibi just knows this conflict will not be resolved in this generation. He sees his role as incrementally improving the parameters for the next generation.

Under the current GOP, we are a nation led by unintelligent, short-term thinkers, engaged in a geopolitical conflict against nations that are, almost universally, more intelligent and strategic than we are. I remain convinced the smartest minds in the world today are Americans. Those Americans are just completely powerless in our current constitutional order.

Bibi sees his role as staying in office so he stays out of prison.
 
I am still absolutely dumbfounded that we launched a war against Iran without adequately having war-gamed the closing of the Hormuz as a base case scenario. We launched a war against an OPEC member who controls the world’s most critical energy chokepoint, without having a credible contingency plan for the most obvious asymmetric response that would be available to our enemy.

This is why you don’t let alcoholic Fox News weekend host run the DoD!
