It's a loss, either way. Keep in mind I used "a" not "the." Wikler is a frontrunner with Martin and an insider. Supported by Milquetoast Leader Schumer.

Times reporter Reid J. Epstein writes that both are “middle-aged white men from the upper Midwest and chair of their state parties whose politics are well within the Democratic mainstream.

only Wikler has attracted the endorsement of a leading Democrat. Chuck Schumer, the Democratic minority leader in the Senate, has thrown his support behind Wikler.

Wikler has worked for Brown, Warren, Franken. He's a longtime Dem activist and company man. He'll continue the McGovern - Schumer milquetoast activism that no longer resonates with the working class and middle class. Wikler wants to fight, but he lost WI to Trump. Yeah, they turned over the Governorship and a few seats, but Ron Johnson is still Senator. Wisconsin is purple and they voted more blue in 2020 and 2024.

Color me skeptical that Wikler has the fire of a Josh Lyman and the strategic wisdom of a Leo McGarry (of West Wing of course).
I would like to see Stacey Abrams be the chair of the DNC...

Not to mention, the point of her comment was not to equivalate (you're welcome, super) January 6 with those other events. It was to illustrate the importance of not forgetting painful events and the lessons we should learn from them. By attempting to minimize the significance of January 6, MAGAs like Ramrouser are in the same category as Holocaust deniers and Lost Causers. Maybe not equivalent, but categorically comparable.
EXTREMELY charitable interpretation of Hostin’s comments. I bet she’ll be reading one of the hostage legal notes on tomorrow’s show. This would be like her 6th legal note over the past month or so.

Which hostages?

Who gives a shit what Sonny Hostin (who?) has to say. She's a talking head on 'The View', apparently. I don't watch 'The View.' Do you?

She’s a liberal media figure who speaks to a daytime audience. Why do you guys care what Sean, Laura or, in the past, Rush say? They are “talking heads.”
Of course I don’t watch the view but YouTube and X exist to play her stupid opinions.

It's the difference in the attention they got from the hierarchy of the party. The three you mentioned actually had influence with the politicians. I doubt (although since I don't listen to her or politicians, I don't know) that Hostin has any influence with anyone but her audience.

I'd never even heard of Hostin until Ramrouser's mention of her.

In 2004, John Kerry conceded to George W. Bush at about 11:00 am on Wednesday, Nov. 9th. The morning after the election.

In 2016, Hillary Clinton conceded to Donald Trump in the wee hours of Wednesday morning, November 3rd. The morning after the election.

In 2020, Donald Trump never conceded and tried to overturn the election.
And has yet to concede. According to him and his followers he never lost the 2020 election, it was stolen from him by Democrats. History teachers used to point out that the 1800 presidential election was historic because it was the first time that one political party - the Federalists - lost a presidential election and another party - Jeffersonian Republicans - won one. And yet the transfer of power was peaceful, and so it set a precedent in America for the peaceful transfer of power from one party to another that more or less held until 2020. If you lost an election, even a very close one, you conceded gracefully and you or your party tried again four years later.

Until Trump, that is. He never conceded, falsely claimed the election was stolen, and instigated a violent riot to prevent the other party from certifying the electoral college vote and taking office. And yet his supporters have already relegated this into a minor incident that signified nothing. Somewhere John Adams is rolling in his grave - based on Trump's actions maybe he should never have surrendered the White House to Thomas Jefferson!

+1. Rush Limbaugh was glowingly described in the 1990s by National Review as the "Leader of the Opposition" to President Clinton, and was rewarded with Trump giving him the Presidential Medal of Freedom before he died (which is disgusting, but that's a separate thread). This lady has no influence in the Democratic Party and is barely known outside of that stupid show. That's a pretty damn big difference.
