James Comey being investigated by the Secret Service

Believe it also means something similar to cutting someone off from alcohol.

I’ve never heard used to imply murdering someone. If a person is 86’d then they are banned from a particular place.
 
I wasn’t aware Comey was in the restaurant industry. I seem to recall that he spent his career in law enforcement.

I know. It's hard to believe that he'd heard anything about a term that's been around since the 1930s in any way but a criminal sense.

Isn't it good that criminal stupidity and mendacity aren't generally criminal?

I would tell the secret service that I meant it in way almost everyone who uses it - an expression of a desire to have the president legally removed from office. I would say to the secret service, “You are fully aware that there was no threatening intent so fuck right off.”

Although most likely the secret service apologized to Comey immediately before saying that they understand this is a political witch hunt.
 
Secret Service interviewed him for 70 minutes. Now want to interview his wife. It maybe innocent but stupid but, on the other hand, there could be something there.

You guys are too quick to write this off. Comey appears to have gone loco.

It's very clearly meant as intimidation, the very type of weaponized law enforcement that you used to purport to disdain but now celebrate.
 
Let's put the 86 thing to the ultimate test.

I vote we 86 Ramrouser from the board.

Context matters. We are anonymous posters on a semi private message board. Your comment was not widely published by the former director of the FBI directed towards POTUS - who has had two assassination attempts against him during the last 10 months.

Maybe I should have typed it out in a more menacing font for better context. Or I guess I could have gathered up a bunch of seashells, rocks, bottle tops.... and written it out with those for better context.
