At 6 wins per season, Mack attaining 300 wins will take a while.
He has 288 wins . If we can beat ncst and win our bowl game. He would only be 10 wins away for 300.

Given his history of being the winningest coach in UNC history and winningest active coach in the NCAA today, why not give him another two seasons to reach 300 ?

Only 5 coaches have won 300 games:

Joe Paterno
Bobby Bowden
Bear Bryant
Pop Warner
Amos Alonzo Stagg

We have never been a football school, but being only one of 6 coaches to win 300 games would add a bit of luster to our mediocre football history.

You and the 5 other remaining Mack supporters can have fun sitting in an empty stadium watching his quest for 300 wins.

You will probably be waiting for him to hit that threshold for awhile though, considering we are about to lose a bunch of our best players to graduation/NFL and are replacing them with one of the worst recruiting classes in our history because nobody wants to play for Mack anymore.

1. Who cares about adding luster to that football history? It seems like you are literally suggesting that we should polish a turd. Yes, literally.
2. What % of his victories came at UNC? We think of Mack as a Tar Heel, but he won his NC at Texas and I suspect he will be viewed as much of a Texas guy as a UNC guy
3. It's not worth sucking to get "luster." Luster does nothing for me in any aspect of my life. College football games don't really do much either, but at least they can be a couple of hours of enjoyment on a Saturday.

This is lunacy. Given his recruiting and how much talent we're going to lose I'm not even sure he could get 10 wins in the next two years and that assumes he wins the next two in a row lol.

But he won the majority of those 288 games at Texas. How does that add luster to our history?

Holy hell, I didn't realize how awful the incoming freshman class is. As of today, they're ranked 78th overall, 16th in the ACC (per 24/7) and behind such football powerhouses as Georgia State (59), Northwestern (62), and Tulane (75).

Don't panic yet Portal opens soon

Yeah we've already held onto him too long. It's a complete rebuild at this point. If we had cut bait two years ago after he had shown he can't coach but we still had a talented roster because of his initial recruiting boost then maybe we could have made something positive out of the Mack era. As it stands now we're toast for the foreseeable future.

The good players would have left.

Wait until Mack gets hold of the transfer portal. The studs are lining up to play for him.

and you think our next coach will be more successful than Mack Brown has been since he returned to UNC. I have 100 years of history that says he will not. What do you have to say the next coach will ?

Not "has been"..."would be". Can our next coach be more successful than Mack Brown WOULD BE going forward?

Because the atmosphere around Kenan during such a quest will be similar to going to football games at Davidson.
